Communicator with a focus on project management

Do you want to use your communication skills where they really make a difference, in an organization that is a central part of Sweden's defense capability? At the Swedish Defence Materiel Administration (FMV), we are now looking for a communicator with a focus on project management. Here you can truly make a difference – every day – at a time when it is more important than ever to safeguard Sweden's security and preparedness. The role is suitable for you who want to work with communication at a high level and switch between strategic work and creative content creation.

About the position

You will work in the communications department, part of the HR and communications staff – the hub for both competence supply and communication. Here we ensure that FMV has the right competence and that communication contributes to the authority achieving its goals.

In this role, you will lead and coordinate communication assignments and projects from start to finish – with planning, risk management, and follow-up as important tools. You will project manage meetings and events in physical, digital, and hybrid formats and coordinate content, technology, and production in collaboration with internal functions and external suppliers.

You will produce materials for both internal and external communication and also contribute operationally, for example with talking points, questions and answers, and text drafts. The role may periodically involve driving assignments “from start to finish” – from the initial brief and timeline to implementation, checkpoints, decision points, and final delivery.

The position is based in Stockholm. Some domestic travel may occur.

About you

You have a relevant academic degree, for example in communication, media, political science, or project management, or equivalent that we assess as comparable. You also have:

  • several years of current experience in project or assignment management in a cross-functional environment
  • several years of current experience in qualified communication work where you have produced materials and content yourself
  • experience in initiating, planning, and managing projects with purpose, milestones, resources, risk management, decision points, and follow-up
  • experience in project managing meetings, events, or broadcasts in physical, digital, or hybrid formats
  • familiarity with structured workflows from brief to materials, production, approval, and publication, in collaboration with the communication function and external suppliers
  • experience in producing management materials, talking points, questions and answers, and text drafts with short lead times
  • experience in change management when conditions change rapidly, including clarifying consequences and securing new approvals
  • experience in supplier management as needed

You have excellent knowledge of Swedish and English. You also have a good understanding of project management and reporting and can apply it in communication assignments.

It is advantageous to have training or certification in project management as well as education or experience in plain language, change communication, or crisis and preparedness communication. Experience from the public sector or the defense and security area is also advantageous. It is a plus if you have experience with budget responsibility or financial follow-up in projects. Knowledge of authority requirements for objectivity and correctness as well as working according to decision-making and approval procedures is also advantageous.

Personal qualities are of great importance to us. We welcome applicants with diverse backgrounds and experiences and are looking for someone who works in a structured manner and prioritizes effectively. You thrive in collaboration and build good relationships, are self-driven, and move processes forward. Your quality awareness gives you the ability to secure facts, make relevant trade-offs, and deliver accurate and well-founded materials, even under time pressure. You adapt quickly to new conditions and are creative, seeing opportunities in changes and are eager to develop new ideas, formats, and working methods.
