Communicators with a focus on operational support

Do you want to use your communication skills where they truly make a difference in an organization that is a central part of Sweden's defense capability? At the Swedish Defence Materiel Administration (FMV), we are now looking for two communicators with a focus on operational support. Here, you can truly make a difference every day, at a time when it is more important than ever to safeguard Sweden's security and preparedness. The role suits you if you want to work with communication at a high level and switch between strategic work and creative content creation.

About the position

You will work in the communications department, which is part of the HR and communications staff – the hub for both competence supply and communication. Here, we ensure that FMV has the right competence and that communication contributes to the agency achieving its goals.

The role is close to operations, and you will work closely with managers and operations in your daily work. Internal communication is often a significant part of the assignment – for example, intranet texts, change communication, and support in dialogue, anchoring, and manager communication. In some projects, external communication is also included, for instance, when we communicate with external target groups.

As a communicator, you provide advisory support to managers, organizational units, and projects. You develop communication plans for projects and events, where you set target groups, messages, channel choices, and timelines, as well as ensure responsibilities, approval points, and follow-up. You also prepare materials for managers, such as presentation support, text proposals, and questions and answers.

You produce and develop content primarily for internal channels. In some projects, you also prepare materials for external communication, such as web texts and publication materials. You work closely with the editorial team of the communications department and contribute with materials and text drafts.

You support management and managers in change communication and make goals and strategies understandable for different target groups. The role includes both long-term planning and quick, situational communication where you can prioritize when circumstances change. If necessary, you contribute to crisis and preparedness work, as well as follow-up and analysis to strengthen the impact of our efforts.

The position is based in Stockholm. Some domestic travel may occur.

About you

You have a relevant academic degree, such as in communication, media, journalism, or political science, or equivalent that we assess as comparable. You also have:

  • several years of experience in qualified communication work and advisory communication support to managers and operations
  • experience in communication planning (target groups, messages, channel choices) and the development of communication plans and materials
  • experience in internal communication in organizations with clear decision-making and approval procedures, as well as external communication when needed in projects or events
  • the ability to handle multiple parallel matters in a fast-paced environment and update materials when circumstances change

You have very good knowledge of Swedish and English. You enjoy working closely with operations and managers, and you are confident in both internal and external communication when the assignment requires it.

It is advantageous to have education or experience in plain language, change communication, or crisis and preparedness communication, as well as experience from the public sector or defense and security areas.

Personal qualities are of great importance to us. We welcome applicants with diverse backgrounds and experiences and are looking for someone who works in a structured manner and prioritizes effectively. You thrive in collaboration and build good relationships, are self-driven, and move processes forward. Your quality awareness gives you the ability to secure facts, make relevant trade-offs, and deliver accurate and well-founded materials, even under time pressure. Additionally, you are flexible, adapt quickly to new circumstances, and are creative. You see opportunities in changes and are eager to develop new ideas, formats, and working methods.
