Main Responsibilities

As a soldier in the 142nd Airbase Security Platoon, your main task is to detect, locate, identify, and counter security-threatening activities. The platoon is flexible and moves independently over large areas, which provides great freedom of action for individual groups. The platoon's activities vary, sometimes at short notice, between live operations, training, and recovery.

Furthermore, your main task is to counter security-threatening activities. Threats may include reconnaissance, sabotage, terrorism, or serious crime. You will be trained and exercised with the unit's methods and means together with your group. In the platoon, you may hold one or more positions such as: group leader, support gunner, vehicle driver, sharpshooter, combat medic, and within the company, there is also the opportunity for further training as a dog handler and CUAS and RPAS operators.

You will solve your main task, for example, through fixed or mobile reconnaissance. You and your comrades need to be able to handle difficult conditions and act independently.
