Fuel Soldier at the Staff and Logistics Company

The Staff and Logistics Company is part of the 31st Air Base Battalion at the Helicopter Wing Malmen. The company consists of a company command, command platoon, logistics platoon, supply platoon, and medical platoon. The main task of the company is to support the airbase with command and logistics needs. The logistics platoon is responsible for the external logistics of the airbase while the supply platoon is responsible for the internal logistics of the airbase.

Main Responsibilities

As a fuel soldier, your main task is to supply fuel to the airbase's systems (helicopter, airplane, wheeled vehicles). You work in a group that together is responsible for the platoon's fuel equipment. You also support the other platoons in solving tasks. The position includes, among other things, refueling vehicles and helicopters, transporting fuel, standby duties, service with heavy trucks and trailers, and material service.

REQUIREMENTS

Qualifications

  • Completed military service with a passing result or ongoing military service with a good prognosis at the time of recruitment
  • Swedish citizenship
  • Category B driving license
  • Good knowledge of Swedish and English in speech and writing
  • Meets the Swedish Armed Forces' physical requirements

Meritorious

  • ADR certification basic, class 1 and tank
  • Fuel training
  • Military driver's license for heavy truck, heavy trailer

As a driver, you are responsible for ensuring that the vehicle you operate is functional, which makes it essential that you are responsible and meticulous. As a driver, it is also important that you can remain calm and prioritize safety even in a stressful situation.

The Swedish Armed Forces Helicopter Wing is a unit with both land and maritime operational focus that can operate in missions in Sweden and internationally.

Helicopter support is requested by many. For example, for personnel, material, or medical transport, command, reconnaissance, or surveillance missions. The Helicopter Wing often participates in missions and exercises with other units but also as support to society in various crisis situations.

Operating throughout Sweden, the breadth of tasks and the size of the wing with over 950 employees provide variety in work and opportunities for personal development. The majority of the Helicopter Wing is located in Linköping (Malmen), where we also manage Malmen Airport and Linköping garrison, with two large units in Luleå (Kallax) and Ronneby (Kallinge).
