Rescue Soldier at the Swedish Armed Forces

The Swedish Armed Forces exists to protect Sweden. Our mission requires a wide range of operations. As an employee with us, you will become an important part of Sweden's defense. Imagine going to work and contributing to a safer future? We are growing and are now looking for you to strengthen the Rescue Platoon of the Helicopter Wing!

31st Air Base Battalion

The 31st Air Base Battalion consists of four companies and a battalion command with an associated battalion staff. The four companies consist of a Staff/Logistics Company, Protection Airfield Operations Company, Air Base Security Company, and Basic Training Company.

As a rescue soldier, you will belong to the Protection Airfield Operations Company and the Rescue Platoon. The Rescue Platoon primarily works with the operation of Malmen Air Base and the development of personnel and operations towards the military unit's objectives. The company is adapted to the flying units operating within the Linköping garrison, which may involve early mornings, late evenings, weekends, and on-call duty.

Main Responsibilities

The position of rescue soldier involves a varied role with both airfield rescue services, base rescue services, and various focuses towards the military unit, e.g., CBRN service.

The main task and daily operations for the platoon are to maintain Malmen Airfield, but we can operate throughout Sweden and under all conditions, peace, crisis, and war. The platoon has complex tasks and is very broad in its capabilities, containing many different special areas.

Since many of our tasks are linked to the military unit, the military aspect is important in our work. You who apply must be prepared to also solve other tasks within the framework of the military unit. This applies to both training, readiness, and active service. We train several times a week, so you should be open to and enjoy physical training, both in groups and individually.

As a rescue soldier, you are an important part of a team that, under significant time pressure and with demands for precision, solves tasks together to ensure the air combat forces' ability to operate at the airfield. The Rescue Platoon's tasks are both linked to the airfield and to other accidents, such as house fires and traffic accidents.
