Solna City is looking for an experienced and engaged educational developer who wants to work together with the principal to contribute to the schools' development work with a focus on the quality of education.
About Us
Solna is a growing municipality with a strong tradition of quality and a clear focus on providing every student with the best possible conditions for success. The Department of Education and Childcare is responsible for ensuring that children and young people in Solna have their needs for care and education met. The department is Solna City's largest and consists of 32 preschools, three open preschools, eight primary schools, and one high school, as well as adapted primary and high schools. What Does the Job Entail?
As an educational developer, you will support Solna City's municipal schools within preschool, primary school, adapted primary school, high school, and adapted high school. The core of your role is to drive the development of educational quality where the student's learning and development are always in focus. The role is a combination of strategic and operational work with a clear practice and operational focus. A central part of the role is to assist the principal in developing teaching based on identified needs in the systematic quality work.
You will, among other things:
- Analyze results and data in the systematic quality work together with the principal and schools and identify prioritized areas for development.
- Support the principal and school management in planning, implementing, and following up targeted efforts related to teaching development and students' goal achievement.
- Work closely with the school's management teams on behalf of the principal and contribute to creating structures, processes, and methods that develop teaching.
- Support the principal and operations in their development work through guidance and mentoring based on research and proven experience.
- Evaluate implemented efforts together and ensure sustainability, quality, and equity.
Who Are We Looking For?
We are looking for someone who has:
- Teaching certification
- Experience from preschool, primary school, adapted primary school, high school, and adapted high school
- Solid experience in delivering good teaching
- Very good digital competence where digital tools are used as a natural part of developing the quality of teaching
- Experience in systematic quality work, including analysis of results and planning of targeted development efforts
- Experience working closely with school management and supporting the principal in pedagogical development work.
As a person, you enjoy working both operationally and strategically. You are present in the operations and create a picture of everyday life while also looking ahead and formulating a clear direction forward. With your deep pedagogical understanding and strong analytical ability, you can identify long-term goals and show alternative paths to achieve them, always with the student in mind and educational quality as the highest priority.
For the role, you need to work independently, structured, and with a high degree of responsibility. You are flexible and can adapt to changing conditions without losing direction or quality. You are used to and have the ability to work with many contact points, where collaboration and relationship-building are success factors. With a responsive and unpretentious personality, you create trust, engagement, and participation. You also have very good communication skills and experience in leading collegial learning, mentoring educators, and driving processes forward. Additionally, your linguistic and analytical skills are strong, making you adept at interpreting, formulating, and adapting information in a precise and target-group-oriented manner.
