Development-Oriented Archivist for Södertörn District Court

The district court consists of six adjudicating departments, one administrative department, and a staff. Södertörn District Court is now seeking two archivists for the registration and archive unit, which is part of the administrative department. The unit is responsible for handling and registering incoming cases and matters to the court, archiving, questions regarding the release of documents, etc. The unit has 12 employees.
Job Description
The archive of Södertörn District Court consists of both old and new material with high demand for documents. The role requires a person who enjoys varied work with occasionally high pressure where all parts of the archive function are handled.
The work as an archivist involves quality assurance and archiving of files in closed cases, working with sorting, confidentiality control, and maintaining all routine documents of the archive while ensuring that the court complies with applicable laws and regulations. The work also involves receiving inquiries and processing requests both via phone and email from the public, authorities, parties in cases, etc. Furthermore, it includes training both new and existing staff. Together with other archive staff, you will drive the archival work forward and keep up with technological developments. As an archivist, you will also be part of a regional network for archival issues.
Qualifications
You who are applying should have a university or college education of at least 60 higher education credits in archival science and at least one year of current experience working with archival issues within Sweden's courts. You are very well versed in archival and public access legislation and the National Archives' regulations and have experience in working with the release of public documents. It may be advantageous if you have been part of the development of governing documents and/or routine documents within the archival field.
We are looking for someone who thrives in fast-paced environments and has the ability to work structured and accurately even in pressured situations. You have a strong drive and desire to improve and develop the organization. As a person, you are quality-conscious and have a high service mindset. You build good relationships with colleagues and contribute your expertise to the group's collective work. Since the role involves many contacts, both internally and externally, it is important that you are clear and pedagogical in your communication.
You are accustomed to using the computer as a working tool in your daily work and handle the Office suite very well. Furthermore, you have a good ability to express yourself verbally and in writing in Swedish.

About the Workplace
Södertörn District Court is one of the largest district courts in the country, employing over 250 staff. Our jurisdiction includes the municipalities of Botkyrka, Haninge, Huddinge, and Nynäshamn as well as Söderort within Stockholm municipality. The court handles a large number of criminal cases, civil cases, and court matters. The district court has six adjudicating departments, one administrative department, and a staff. We work in modern premises in Flemingsberg, Huddinge, close to the commuter train station.
