The Department of Security and Preparedness, which consists of two sections with eight units, is responsible for directing, guiding, coordinating, and following up Svenska kraftnät's internal work on security protection, crisis preparedness, continuity, total defense, supplier security, information security, and operational protection. The department is also responsible for Svenska kraftnät's external assignments related to security and preparedness. The authority is, among other things, the country's electricity preparedness authority and supervisory authority under the Security Protection Act.

As a key player in Sweden's electricity supply, Svenska kraftnät has high ambitions in the area of security and preparedness, and several major initiatives are underway to strengthen the authority's and the electricity supply's security protection and preparedness capability.

About the position

Svenska kraftnät has a system responsibility for the Swedish power system. As a strategic partner, you will serve as a link between the Department of Security and Preparedness and the parts of the authority that work with system responsibility, primarily in the System Division. You will participate in management groups, steering groups, and other forums based on the core business's needs and contribute to the strategic development of the business in the areas of security and preparedness.

Within the Department of Security and Preparedness, you will ensure that the department has a good understanding of the needs and conditions within the core business System Responsibility, and work to ensure that the support provided by the department is appropriate. You will develop and lead an internal departmental forum to coordinate the units' work related to system responsibility. You will establish and develop the working methods and collaboration needed for you to be successful in your role. As a strategic partner, you will work directly with management in relevant parts of the authority and have significant opportunities to influence operations in an important and highly relevant area.

As a strategic partner, you will be part of the department's management staff.

About you

Education: Relevant academic education, e.g., a Master of Science in Engineering or in public safety, or equivalent competence acquired in another way.

  • Very good knowledge of the legal requirements regarding security and preparedness that apply to government authorities.
  • Previous experience working with systematic security work, preferably in an operation where critical resources need to function around the clock or in a security-sensitive operation governed by the Security Protection Act.
  • Experience working with business development at a strategic level, preferably as part of management groups or steering groups.
  • Solid experience in leading and contributing to change processes, as well as developing new working methods in collaboration with stakeholders.
  • Good ability to speak, read, and write in Swedish and English.

Desirable:

  • Experience with systematic work on preparedness issues, preferably at a preparedness authority.
  • Previous experience as a manager with operational, budget, and personnel responsibility.
  • Good knowledge of the Swedish power system, or the Swedish, Nordic, and European electricity market.

Good to know

  • The position is located in Sundbyberg.
  • Some opportunity for remote work, up to about 50% when tasks allow.
  • Some travel may occur in this position.
