Business Developer for the Grant & Support Unit
Are you skilled in economics and service-oriented, structured, analytical, and good at communicating and meeting people? Do you also want to contribute to the unit's development and success? Then the position of Business Developer might be the job for you!
The Grant & Support Unit is one of two units that make up the Association Support Department.
The unit consists of sixteen employees who together provide support to the association life throughout the City of Gothenburg and work for a sustainable association life. The unit handles association grants, municipal guarantees, provides consultative support and advice to the city's associations, facilitates the provision of premises, and carries out various assignments from orders of the board or administrative management related to the association life. Today, we work with approximately 550 associations and disburse about 160 million in association support.
Job Responsibilities
In the role of Business Developer, you will work with the administration's investment and operational grants as well as municipal guarantees. Within the grant area, you are responsible for developing, analyzing, and following up on working methods and concepts to create long-term and sustainable conditions for the association life, at both strategic and operational levels. You contribute to business development together with colleagues by developing and further refining concepts to carry out assignments and achieve set goals.
The role also involves collaboration with actors within the city, civil society, and external parties. You will join, coordinate, and lead various networks. The assignment also includes handling the administration's grants and a clear responsibility to be a qualified support to colleagues in matters related to financial control, follow-up, and quality assurance of association grants.
You are expected to conduct and follow up on analyses to see the effects and quality of the grants in order to contribute to the development of the administration's processes. The role also includes preparing service statements as a basis for decisions in the sports and association administration's board. Since meetings with the association life may sometimes occur outside regular working hours, evening work may occur. The working hours are mainly scheduled during the day.
Qualifications
We are looking for someone with a university or college degree in economics or another education that the employer deems equivalent for the position. You have experience in independently handling financial matters and have worked in a consultative role. We consider it an advantage if you have knowledge and experience of the association life and its conditions, as this is a significant part of your work. If you also have experience from the construction and civil engineering industry, that is also an advantage. We see that you have very good IT skills and can navigate various IT systems. Since you will be visiting facilities and associations throughout the city as part of your job, a B driver's license is a requirement.
For this position, we place great importance on your personal competencies. To succeed as a Business Developer with us, you are structured, analytical, and service-oriented. You have a high administrative ability, communicate professionally and clearly, both verbally and in writing, and you adapt your communication according to the recipient, target group, and situation. You take initiative and responsibility for ensuring that work progresses, whether you work alone or together with others. We also see that you are development-oriented and have the ability to work out situationally adapted solutions depending on different conditions.
Conditions
Our work with selection and interviews may begin before the application deadline, so please submit your application today!
In this recruitment, we will not request a cover letter as an application document. Instead, you will be asked to answer a number of questions where we ask you to describe your competence in the requested area.
At the interview, you will need to present a passport/national ID/certificate of residence issued by the Swedish Tax Agency and possibly proof of residence permit if you have citizenship outside the EU/EEA. This is to ensure your identity and confirm that you have the right to work in Sweden.
We at Sports & Associations offer you a job where you have the opportunity to grow and develop. You will be part of an organization that works with positive issues such as health promotion and meaningful leisure. A good flexible working hours agreement allows both work and leisure to take place.
When you apply for a job with us, we only accept applications via our recruitment system, in accordance with GDPR.
To those representing staffing and recruitment companies: We have already decided on the recruitment channels we wish to use for this recruitment and kindly but firmly decline offers of advertising and recruitment assistance.
