Do you want to help build a new, customized preschool?

Do you want to help build a new, customized preschool where children with different needs get the best possible conditions to develop? Do you thrive among engaged colleagues who support each other, learn from one another, and are passionate about everyone’s right to education? Then you might be the one we are looking for!

Who are we?

We are now looking for three new colleagues who want to join us on an exciting journey – from an established preschool to a completely new, adapted unit at the upcoming Månstenens preschool. You will start your position at Berlockens preschool, located in the center of Vilbergen, with good bike paths, excellent bus connections, and proximity to both forests and parks. Berlockens preschool will be phased out this summer following a decision by the education committee; you can read more about the decision here.

From August, you will move to our newly built preschool Månstenen, also located in Vilbergen. Månstenen will offer modern and well-planned facilities for 130 children spread over two floors, with part of it being an adapted unit located on the lower floor. In the adapted unit, children with physical and medical disabilities will be offered the right to education on equal terms, through facilities and equipment that are carefully tailored to their specific needs.

In preparation for the planned launch of the adapted unit at Månstenen in January 2027, you will have even more engaged colleagues, with special expertise to include and provide the children with the conditions necessary for them to acquire the content of education.

Your responsibilities

As an employee at Berlocken, you will work in teams and child groups throughout the preschool, with a special responsibility based on children's right to support. You will create a safe and inclusive environment where each child has the opportunity to grow and develop according to their conditions.

You will work based on current governing documents, plan, implement, and develop the preschool's education individually and together in teams. Through collaboration with colleagues, guardians, and external actors, you contribute to providing the children with the best possible developmental potential. You will actively participate in collegial learning and professional development to constantly grow and be inspired in your professional role.

When Månstenen opens in August, you and your colleagues will be tasked with building a completely new preschool from the ground up. You will continue to have a special responsibility based on children's right to support, focusing on creating conditions for learning, development, and participation for children in need of special support.

Who are you?

We are looking for you who are a licensed preschool teacher or trained childcare worker, and who is curious, engaged, and confident in your profession. You have good experience in special education work, where you have been responsible for creating conditions for learning, development, and participation for children in need of special support.

Your view of children and your approach make both children and adults feel seen, safe, and valuable based on their conditions and abilities. Your pedagogical positions are based on the democratic values that our curriculum rests upon, and you have a good understanding of the preschool's mission, curriculum, and other governing documents.

You have good knowledge of Swedish in both spoken and written form and are used to documenting children's development, for example through implementation plans. You are comfortable with a project-oriented working method, work with pedagogical documentation, and use digital tools as a natural part of your role.

As a person, you are solution-focused, creative, and remain calm even when the pace is high or unexpected situations arise. You take responsibility for your work, collaborate selflessly, and find it easy to build trusting and positive relationships with both children, guardians, the principal, and colleagues.

It is an advantage if you have completed or are pursuing special education training, or training as a physiotherapist or occupational therapist. We also view positively if you have experience with medical interventions such as medication or tube feeding, as well as experience handling aids such as transfer aids, lifts, and standing scales. Knowledge of AAC (Alternative and Augmentative Communication) and sign language is seen as a plus, as it contributes to creating even greater participation for the children.

Welcome with your application!
