Your Responsibilities
The purpose of the position as Assistant Professor is to provide the teacher with the opportunity to develop their independence as a researcher and to qualify both scientifically and pedagogically to meet the requirements for a position as a lecturer.
The Department of Psychology conducts research as well as undergraduate and doctoral education in psychology, including professional training in the field of psychology.
As an Assistant Professor in Psychology, you will teach at both undergraduate and advanced levels, in Swedish and English, and supervise students in psychology and psychotherapy programs. The work includes course design and course responsibility within the framework of problem-based learning (PBL). Pedagogical work includes psychological testing, particularly ability testing in educational contexts within developmental psychology. Doctoral supervision and supervision of thesis work in psychology and psychotherapy programs are also part of the position.
The relevant research for the position concerns psychological treatment in crisis management and large-scale societal disasters. The research involves internet-based cognitive behavioral therapy and assessment instruments, as well as how these can be applied in situations such as pandemics, disasters, and other socially relevant crises. Your tasks will include conducting studies, such as randomized controlled trials (RCTs), within clinical psychology, primarily focusing on internet-based cognitive behavioral therapy (iCBT). Preferably, randomized controlled trials will be conducted, but also other types of studies such as qualitative studies and studies aimed at investigating various components of psychological internet treatment, for example, therapist behaviors.
We expect you to be active in the research community, participate in the department's activities such as seminars and workshops, engage in research projects, communicate results through scientific publications, and contribute to attracting external research funding.

Your Qualifications
We are looking for someone who has a PhD or equivalent scientific competence. We primarily seek someone who has obtained their PhD within the last five years.
For this position, equal weight will be given to scientific and pedagogical skills, and in second place, other skills.
Regarding scientific skills, the following will be assessed:
- The requirement for the position is documented scientific competence in the form of scientific publications that investigate therapist behaviors within internet-based cognitive behavioral therapy (iCBT).
- Particularly meritorious is documented scientific competence in conducting randomized controlled trials (RCTs) with quantitative data analyses.
- Particularly meritorious is documented scientific competence in using qualitative research methods in combination with quantitative ones.
- Particularly meritorious is documented scientific competence in the form of scientific publications within clinical psychology with crisis management applications in relevant and reputable scientific journals.
Regarding pedagogical skills, the following will be assessed:
- The requirement for the position is documented competence in psychological testing, particularly ability testing in educational contexts within developmental psychology.
- The requirement for the position is documented pedagogical competence from group supervision within the framework of problem-based learning (PBL).
- Particularly meritorious is higher education pedagogical training in group supervision within the framework of PBL.
- Meritorious is other higher education pedagogical training.
- Meritorious is also a license as a psychologist.
Other skills that will be assessed for this position include:
- You demonstrate good collaboration skills and contribute to the development of the workgroup, collegial working methods, and social community.
- In your scientific and pedagogical activities, you create and maintain good relationships with colleagues both within your own environment and outside.
- You are structured and can plan, organize, and prioritize work effectively.
- You are proactive, initiate activities, and achieve results.
Since teaching and research are conducted in both Swedish and English, you must demonstrate the ability to teach and conduct research in English, and it is desirable that you can teach and conduct research in Swedish within two years.

This position is for a duration of four years, full-time. Start date by agreement.
