Teach Art at Ljungsbro School
Do you have a background in art or design and are curious about teaching? Here you will take responsibility for the school's art education in an environment with supportive colleagues. Welcome to us!
Your Responsibilities
Your starting point as a teacher is to work with planning, teaching, evaluation, and values-based work according to the curriculum. The work is done both independently and in collaboration with colleagues.
As a teacher for grades 7-9, you will collaborate with guardians, colleagues, and others present in the school to achieve higher goal fulfillment and create the best conditions for each student. You will base your work on the student group you meet and are expected to create varied and challenging teaching. Using digital tools is a natural part of your teaching.
You promote collegial learning through discussion and reflection during both planned and spontaneous occasions. To benefit students' learning, as well as your own and the development of the organization, you will utilize the experiences and knowledge of various professions.
This position involves teaching art in all our classes in grades 7-9, as well as mentoring a class together with a colleague. The position is a temporary contract from 2026-03-30 to 2026-12-18.
Your Workplace
Ljungsbro School is a grades 7-9 school located in central Ljungsbro, just over 10 km from Linköping city center. Our vision is to learn more through challenges, curiosity, and good relationships. The school has over 300 students in grades 7-9 with approximately 20 students in each class. The school's approximately 50 staff members continuously work to develop teaching to maximize students' learning. The best interests of the student are always in focus, and the organization is characterized by engagement, creativity, dynamism, and joy.
As an employee with us, you will have helpful colleagues who are happy to go the extra mile to create a pleasant atmosphere together; for example, we had a joint breakfast together on Lucia. Our strong collaboration is made possible through clear structures and forums where colleagues meet. Among other things, we have a joint conference once a month where the whole school meets to discuss common issues, as well as a collaboration time in everyone's calendars once a week. We have a trusting environment where you are encouraged to try new things and experiment in your professional role, whether you are experienced or new in your teaching role.
The school has a well-developed student health team, and we are a mobile-free school throughout the school day.
Who We Are Looking For
We are primarily looking for someone with a teaching license qualified to teach grades 7-9. Alternatively, we are looking for someone with a completed teacher education for grades 7-9. You may also be at the end of your education to become a teacher for grades 7-9. It is an advantage if you have qualifications to teach art or other experience in the subject.
It is a requirement that you have experience working in a curriculum-driven school through practice or as an employee.
In your role as a teacher in grades 7-9, you have good knowledge of the school's mission and are well acquainted with the curriculum (Lgr22) and other governing documents. You have good communication skills in both spoken and written Swedish. This is necessary for you to organize and carry out work in a way that supports the student's language and communication development according to the curriculum (Lgr22). You are responsible for ensuring that each student can use the Swedish language in a rich and nuanced way.
As a teacher, you are a good role model. You have the ability to adapt your teaching to the students and allow them to participate in shaping the education. In a quality-conscious manner, you create good conditions for the student's development and learning and document it. You collaborate well with colleagues, guardians, and other contacts in the community relevant to your professional role.
