Our client is a large government authority with a central societal mission in taxation, population registration, and related areas. The operations are conducted in a complex and community-oriented context where issues are often subject to media scrutiny and significant public interest. The organization is characterized by high demands for legal security, transparency, and accessibility, as well as close collaboration between operations, communication, and management.

As a press secretary, you will have an operational and independent role focused on press and media issues. You will work closely with managers and spokespersons, responsible for planning, executing, and following up on external communication efforts directed at the media. The role includes staffing the press service and handling media inquiries, producing and publishing press releases, and overseeing daily media monitoring. You will actively participate in the team and support managers and spokespersons with advice, messaging materials, and preparations for media appearances. The role may also involve participation in staff work as needed and some on-call duties during evenings and weekends. To succeed, you must quickly familiarize yourself with the operations, handle complex issues, and act professionally even in time-pressured situations.

We are looking for someone who meets all of the following requirements:

  • A degree in information and communication, journalism, or another post-secondary education deemed equivalent.
  • At least two years of documented and current experience in similar communication work, for example as a press secretary.
  • At least one year of current experience from working in a news editorial.
  • Current experience working with social media.
  • High digital maturity.

To succeed in this role, we see that you are:

  • Self-driven, structured, and proactive.
  • Accustomed to working in a complex organization with a fast pace.
  • Confident in communicating both verbally and in writing in Swedish.
  • Pedagogical and able to adapt messages to different target groups.
  • Collaborative with a solution-oriented approach.
  • Familiar with the Accessibility Act for digital public services.

Meritorious:

  • Experience working with press and media issues within public sector.

The assignment starts immediately and is expected to run until the end of the year. The working hours are normally scheduled from Monday to Friday, 8:00 AM to 4:30 PM, with flexible hours within the framework of 6:00 AM to 9:00 PM. The role also includes some on-call duties and work during evenings and weekends. The assignment is a consultancy position via Adecco.
