The Ministry of Rural Affairs and Infrastructure is responsible for issues related to rural areas, food and agricultural industries, regional development, transport and infrastructure, as well as housing and urban planning.
The Legal Unit for Infrastructure and Housing works with legal issues in the areas of transport, housing, and urban development. The legal unit is now looking for staff who will primarily work with legal analyses and legislation in the areas of transport and infrastructure.
The tasks in this role include drafting legal council memoranda, bills, departmental memoranda, and legislative texts. An important task is to participate in the work of negotiating EU legislation and, to some extent, other international work.
The tasks also include assisting with legal investigations and similar work, as well as providing information and advice on legal matters to the department's subject areas and to the political leadership.
The work involves a high degree of collaboration with other units in the Government Offices, as well as contacts with authorities and organizations. The work may involve travel, including to Brussels.

Your Background
We are looking for someone who is a court of appeal or administrative court assessor or has experience of other qualified legal work. You should have current experience of qualified legal work from a court or authority, broad legal competence, and a very good ability to conduct in-depth legal analyses. To be successful in this role, you need to be a skilled writer and have experience in writing extensively. You also need to be a stringent presenter with a developed ability to adapt presentations to different target groups and highlight the most essential points in oral contexts. We expect you to master Swedish and English as working languages, both orally and in writing. You should also have an understanding of working in a politically governed organization. It is advantageous if you have experience in legislative work within the Government Offices or committee work and regulatory work at an authority, especially in the areas of transport, aviation, urban planning, or housing. Furthermore, it is advantageous if you have good knowledge of EU law.

You have a very good ability to express yourself verbally and in writing in both Swedish and English, which is crucial for effective communication in both national and international contexts. Other Information
We offer different positions depending on your background, either a six-year appointment as a legal advisor if you are employed in a court or a permanent position as a departmental secretary. The employment is full-time and begins with a six-month probationary period with immediate start. The position is placed in a security class and a security review with background check will be conducted before a decision on employment is made. You must be a Swedish citizen but may have a foreign background.
