The Police Area Blekinge northeastern Skåne (POBN) is one of the police areas in the southern region and is headquartered in Kristianstad. The Court Center in Kristianstad is the main station for the local police area Kristianstad but also the starting point for several national, regional, and area-specific departments, units, and sections.
POBN is divided into four local police areas: Hässleholm, Karlshamn, Karlskrona, and Kristianstad. The geographical area covers a total of ten municipalities in northeastern Skåne and Blekinge County, including Kristianstad, Hässleholm, Östra Göinge, Osby, Bromölla, Sölvesborg, Olofström, Karlshamn, Ronneby, and Karlskrona.
At the police area level, there is an investigation section, an investigation journal section, and a police area office. Within the local police area of Kristianstad, there are intervention and crime prevention activities, investigation groups, dog units, traffic groups, and support and service.
We now need to strengthen our traffic group with a Vehicle Inspector based in Kristianstad.
JOB RESPONSIBILITIES
The job responsibilities mainly consist of conducting:
- spot inspections
- technical examinations of vehicles
- checking professional drivers' driving and rest times
- checking load securing
- checking permits for professional traffic
- weighing vehicles
- investigating certain traffic offenses
- checking national and international professional transports
- checking taxis

QUALIFICATIONS
We are looking for someone who wants to be part of the development of Sweden's largest authority and, within this framework, contribute to making all of Sweden safe and secure.
We are looking for someone who is/has:
- Vehicle engineer or high school education with a technical focus (at least mathematics 3 and physics 1) or equivalent relevant education for the function, alternatively validated for spot inspection at level F3 according to the Transport Agency's regulations
- Swedish driver's license for categories B, BE, CE, and DE
- Good ability to express yourself in speech and writing in Swedish and English
- Experience working with mobile phones and computers as work tools
- At least 3 years of work experience in the vehicle field
It is advantageous if you have/are:
- Certified inspection technician for heavy vehicles
- Good knowledge of traffic legislation
- Driving experience of all authorized vehicle categories
- Language skills beyond Swedish and English
Personal Qualities
To succeed in the role, you should be confident and well-grounded in yourself, have great commitment, and a positive attitude. The job as a vehicle inspector requires you to be service-oriented with good collaboration skills and the ability to work in a team. You should also have a strong interest in vehicles and take responsibility for achieving set goals and creating good results. You must have the ability to make qualified decisions systematically and methodically.
