Emergency Preparedness Officer at the County Administrative Board of Skåne

The County Administrative Board of Skåne is a government authority at the regional level responsible for state administration in the county. We work to ensure that national goals are implemented in the region based on local conditions. Within our assignments, we provide advice, permits, and supervision, as well as plans and strategies. We manage natural areas and distribute financial support. We collaborate with stakeholders throughout the county.

We have approximately 600 employees and have offices in Malmö and Kristianstad.

Description

Do you want to work with emergency preparedness issues to ensure that residents can be offered a safe and secure Skåne? The County Administrative Board of Skåne is expanding its operations and is looking for an Emergency Preparedness Officer with a focus on firefighting services, nuclear preparedness, and CBRNE.

We are seeking an Emergency Preparedness Officer for the unit of community protection and crisis preparedness at the County Administrative Board's office in Malmö. The employment is permanent with immediate start as agreed. We apply a six-month probationary period.

Responsibilities

As an Emergency Preparedness Officer focusing on firefighting services, you will drive and coordinate various issues - both internally within the authority and in collaboration with firefighting services, municipalities, and other authorities. You will work with support for firefighting services and drive processes related to firefighting during heightened preparedness, planning for nuclear accidents, or developing the ability to handle a regional CBRNE event. You will also be part of the County Administrative Board's crisis and war management organization and may serve as an Emergency Officer (TiB).

You will play a central role in the development of our work with civil defense and total defense planning, where your firefighting perspective is an important piece of the puzzle.

Qualifications

We are looking for someone who has:

  • Education as a fire engineer with additional training RUB
  • Several years of work experience in public operations related to firefighting issues in a leading position
  • Good knowledge of and practical experience from operational activities and application of the Act on Protection Against Accidents
  • Experience in analysis and risk assessment work
  • Experience in project management
  • Driver's license B

It is advantageous if you have:

  • Experience in the area of community protection and preparedness, preferably in a leading position from municipal operations
  • Worked with issues related to firefighting during heightened preparedness
  • Extensive experience in operational activities and management issues
  • Experience in crisis management and staff work
  • Interest in working with support for firefighting services
  • Knowledge of nuclear preparedness and CBRNE issues
  • Experience in evaluating operational events

As the work involves contacts with various parties, you must have a good ability to express yourself well in speech and writing. The work also requires that you can tackle complex problems and work on them in a driven and structured manner. Ideally, you are creative and have an interest in developing ideas into practical results. It is essential that you enjoy working for a safer society and that you have good judgment. You should also be comfortable building and maintaining relationships while being able to act with integrity.

Security Classification

The County Administrative Board has an important coordinating role during societal disturbances, and therefore we have high demands on our employees' security and confidentiality awareness. Some of our positions are security classified and may also involve a wartime placement at the authority, which means that a security clearance must be conducted before a hiring decision is made. In some cases, Swedish citizenship is required in accordance with the Security Protection Act (2018:585).
