The Workplace

The Culture and Leisure Administration works on behalf of the Culture and Leisure Committee to offer residents a wide range of cultural and leisure activities with good opportunities for participation, learning, experiences, and contexts that enrich people's lives and free time.

The Culture and Leisure Committee's budget amounts to approximately 190 million SEK, and the administration has about 100 permanent employees with broad expertise.

The Culture and Leisure Administration is undergoing a development and restructuring process to play a more active and central role in the work towards a more sustainable and attractive municipality and has, as of January 1, 2025, entered a new organization. The change means, among other things, that the administration's operations will be incorporated into four new departments. The department of hospitality, association collaboration, and sports includes, among other things, responsibility for the municipality's swimming pools and outdoor swimming areas.

At the centrally located Swimming Pool in Trelleborg, there are both exercise swimming, swimming school, water games, and relaxation. Here you will find, among other things, an adventure pool, trampolines, a warm water pool, and two 25-meter pools. There is also a hot tub, steam bath, sauna, and relaxation area. The adventure pool will undergo a complete renovation in 2025 and is expected to reopen in the winter of 2025/2026. There is also an outdoor swimming area in Anderslöv, which is open during the summer, with a 25-meter pool and a children's pool.

The workgroup consists of eight swimming attendants and one unit manager. Together, we provide visitors to the Swimming Pool, the public, schools, and associations with a safe meeting place.

Job Responsibilities

At Trelleborg's Swimming Pool, you will meet people of all ages where activities fill the day with everything from water aerobics, swimming school to lively play. You must enjoy water and working with people.

As a swimming attendant, you will primarily work with pool supervision, cashier duties, and cleaning. A large part of our operations is our swimming instruction, but also activities such as baby swimming and water aerobics. Therefore, it is important for us that you, as an applicant, have a willingness and interest in leading activities. Some technical work is also involved. We offer a varied and free job that requires you to take a lot of personal responsibility.

Working to provide good service and safety for our guests is an important part of the job.

Working hours are scheduled for days, evenings, and weekends. During the summer months, you will also work at the outdoor swimming area in Anderslöv.

Qualifications

You should have a high school education. Your swimming ability must be good, as you need to be able to perform rescues. This means you should be able to swim at least 200 meters and dive to a depth of 4 meters. Before employment can occur, necessary tests must be performed.

Important qualities are that you are service-minded, flexible, self-driven, and have a good ability to collaborate. We also prefer that you have experience working in service. We also view knowledge and experience in managing technical rooms positively.

As a person, it is important for us that you are calm, attentive, and accommodating when taking care of our visitors. You should also have a willingness and interest in helping others and are not afraid to take initiative and start activities when needed.

We want you, as an applicant, to understand, speak, and write good Swedish and English; other language skills are meritorious.

It is an advantage if you have worked in a swimming environment with pool supervision and/or swimming instructor training or other education/experience that the employer deems equivalent.
