For the summer of 2026, we need a few more dedicated lifeguards for our three outdoor swimming areas – Välabadet, Eljarödsbadet, and Smedstorpsbadet.

Välabadet is a beautiful outdoor swimming facility located in central Tomelilla. The facility consists of a 25-meter pool and a children's pool, both with heated water. There is also an opportunity for diving and showers. In the kiosk, you can find lighter lunch options, coffee, candy, and ice cream. Next to the swimming area, there is a seasonal campsite.

Smedstorpsbadet is located in central Smedstorp, within walking distance to the train station. Here you will find a heated 25-meter outdoor pool and a children's pool. Adjacent to the swimming area, there is a kiosk and a mini-golf course, as well as green areas for ball games and play.

In lush greenery lies the beautiful Eljarödsbadet with a heated 25-meter pool and a children's pool. You can easily reach Eljarödsbadet by bus from Tomelilla or Kristianstad.

JOB RESPONSIBILITIES

During weeks 24-33, we need to strengthen our staff at the outdoor swimming areas in Tomelilla, Eljaröd, and Smedstorp. As a lifeguard, your task is to monitor the pools to maintain the safety of our visitors and ensure that all guests follow our rules of conduct. As a lifeguard, you may also participate in swimming schools.

As a lifeguard, you, along with your colleagues, are responsible for ensuring that visitors have a good time and feel comfortable, as well as receiving the help they need during their visit. Your work includes serving the visitors and assisting by answering their questions.

Your responsibilities also include keeping the swimming facilities clean and tidy and managing daily routines, for example, during opening and closing.

QUALIFICATIONS

We welcome both those with previous experience as a lifeguard and those who are ready for new challenges.

To thrive in the role of lifeguard with us, it is important that you are self-assured and enjoy working with other people. With us, you become part of a community and meet both colleagues and visitors daily. You are comfortable guiding and serving the visitors of the swimming areas. As a person, we would like you to have a strong sense of service and be engaged in your work.

To be considered for the lifeguard position, you must pass the Guldbojen, which is the swimming test we conduct before employment. The swimming test assesses your skills in swimming, towing, and lifeguarding.

If you have previous experience as a lifeguard or swimming instructor, completed a lifeguard training course or equivalent education in the field, or have documented knowledge in lifeguarding, we consider this an advantage.

Since communication with visitors and colleagues is a significant part of the role, it is a requirement to be fluent in Swedish, both spoken and written.

A valid extract from the police criminal record is required for employment as a lifeguard.

To work as a lifeguard in Tomelilla municipality, you must be at least 18 years old.
