Job Responsibilities

The Municipal Technology department is responsible for maintenance at the beaches of Malmö city as well as for the lifeguards and beach attendants working during the summer season. The department needs a foreman who can assist with various tasks throughout the year. In winter, there is much maintenance work and preparations to ensure that the summer season offers a safe and fantastic experience for all visitors to our beaches.

A significant part of the role during the summer season is to assist the supervisor in creating a good work environment for our beach attendants and lifeguards.

You will be responsible for several practical tasks such as delivering materials to the beaches and supporting the supervisor with scheduling and ensuring adequate staffing at the various beaches. You will oversee and follow up on the work being done within the operational area as a whole and are responsible for ongoing reporting to the supervisor. You will prepare and input the billing basis into our pre-systems.

You will have contact with subcontractors and assist in managing the case handling related to maintenance tasks. The foreman, in consultation with the supervisor, must ensure that the organization of the beach functions well from both a safety and service perspective. Part of the role also includes overseeing bathing bridges and lifeguard equipment.

We also expect you to be practically inclined and able to assist with simpler maintenance tasks with support from the municipal technology's construction department or subcontractors.

Qualifications

You have at least a high school education. You are trained in water rescue, either SLS sea/pool or equivalent training, or have relevant work experience that the employer considers equivalent. You need to have knowledge of lifeguarding and experience working in a larger lifeguard organization. You must have good knowledge of Swedish and English, both spoken and written. You have a driver's license for a manual transmission vehicle. Since you will perform some maintenance tasks, you should consider yourself handy.

You are familiar with the Office suite, and it is an advantage if you have prior experience working with our IT systems (EKOT, LEB, and mapping systems).

You have good communication skills and take responsibility for ensuring that those around you know what needs to be done and that the work is carried out in the best possible way.

You need to have a good ability to structure your workday and have an eye for the needs of the operation, assisting in scheduling and ensuring adequate staffing at the various beaches. We need someone who is engaged, takes great responsibility in their role, and does so with a strong safety awareness.
