The Culture and Leisure Administration is responsible for Klostret in Ystad, Ystad Art Museum, Ystad Library, Youth House, Culture School, Marietorp Nature School, Ystad Arena Bad and halls, Nybrostrandsbadet, and sports facilities, as well as close contact with the associations. About 100 employees work here to create good conditions for stimulating and active leisure and a rewarding, enriching cultural life for the residents of Ystad.

JOB RESPONSIBILITIES

At Ystad Arena Bad, there are twelve employees in the team along with several hourly workers and a Head Lifeguard.

As a lifeguard, you will work with your colleagues to provide our visitors with a safe and pleasant experience. You will work preventively in water safety efforts and keep the facilities in good condition. You ensure that visitors and staff experience good service and a warm welcome in our facilities, among other things through sustainable, attractive living environments and conditions. You will plan with your colleagues the daily rotation around monitoring positions, maintaining routines regarding cleaning, as well as café and, in some cases, reception and other activities.

General job responsibilities:

• Pool supervision
• Hospitality
• Cleaning
• First aid
• Café (not Nybrostrandsbadet)
• Reception
• Activities: water aerobics, swimming lessons, etc. (if qualified)

We have regular working hours between 06:00-20:30 on both weekdays and weekends. During the summer season, working hours are between 06:00-18:30, and we are in need of summer employees both at Ystad Arena Bad and Nybrostrandsbadet during the summer season. There is also a chance to work extra in the fall if needed.

QUALIFICATIONS

We want you who apply to:

• be at least 18 years old
• understand, speak, and write good Swedish and English; other language skills are a plus
• be service-minded
• provide a valid extract from the criminal record, especially for work with children
• be able to complete swimming and lifesaving tests, including swimming 1000m with 200m on your back and elements from the Gold Swim badge.

We plan to conduct swimming tests as part of the recruitment process on Sunday, March 8, and those who pass the swimming test will proceed directly to a group interview.
