JOB RESPONSIBILITIES

With us, you will be part of the building permit unit's ten employees, where you, as a building permit officer/building inspector, will conduct the review of the entire building permit process, from the incoming building permit application to the final decision, including all parts in between. You will therefore decide on both permits and technical requirements.

A large part of the work consists of contact with both businesses and residents in the field and from the office. With new legislation and building regulations coming into effect in 2025, advising will become a central part of your work to help the client reach their goals correctly and efficiently.

You will also draft service documents and independently make decisions by delegation or present your cases before the building committee. You have the opportunity to plan and manage your work independently. In addition to taking responsibility for and solving your own tasks individually, you are also expected to take responsibility for and contribute to the unit's development, results, and continue the positive development of our Customer Satisfaction Index.

QUALIFICATIONS

We are looking for someone with education in urban planning, architecture, construction technology, or equivalent competence as assessed by the employer.

You have good knowledge of the Planning and Building Act, the Administrative Procedure Act, BBR, and other relevant legislation or building regulations. Experience working as a building permit officer or building inspector is an advantage, as is experience working in one or more municipalities.

You should be able to make objective and factual assessments, set clear requirements, and make well-founded decisions. Since we work with government authority, it is important that you can express yourself well in speech and writing. You strive for the assignment to be characterized by high service and quality, as well as a good approach without compromising the authority role.

You are self-driven, meticulous, and take responsibility for your task by planning, organizing, and prioritizing your work effectively and with quality awareness. You have excellent collaboration skills and take initiative to get things done.

As the work is outward-facing with many contacts with private individuals, businesses, other authorities, and colleagues, you must be service-oriented and pedagogical in your communication. You have an interest, willingness, and ability to collaborate and help others. You communicate with your colleagues in a responsive and pleasant manner and show respect and consideration for everyone you meet in your professional role.

A driving license (B) is a requirement.

Great emphasis is placed on personal suitability, and a positive attitude towards development is of particular importance.
