Safety Officer in Vellinge Municipality

We are now looking for someone who wants to work as a safety officer in Vellinge Municipality.

The operation aims to increase the presence in public spaces, strengthen formal control, and work on developing crime prevention and safety-promoting efforts in the municipality together with citizens, businesses, civil society, police, and other collaborative actors. The overarching goal is to reduce crime and work for safety in the municipality.

JOB RESPONSIBILITIES

As a safety officer, you will work both event-driven and strategically to increase safety, reduce crime, and prevent unwanted incidents. You will be present in strategic locations and create relationships through dialogue with those who live, visit, and operate within Vellinge Municipality. The work involves observing, documenting, and reporting deviations that may affect safety. As a safety officer, you will also work with various focus areas related to a safe and tidy Vellinge, which is part of the crime prevention and safety-promoting efforts in the municipality.

The working method allows for quickly calling relevant help in the form of police, security guards, rescue services, ambulances, or municipal on-call services when needed. As a safety officer, you do not have any police powers. A large part of the job involves moving on foot to the strategic locations, and a car and bicycle are available to move between the various strategic locations within the municipality. In addition to the above, you should be accustomed to working independently but also be able to ask for support from colleagues. We are looking for a calm and stable person who maintains composure and focus even in more stressful situations. We place great emphasis on your ability to collaborate and take initiative. You need to be a trustworthy adult who finds it easy to create contacts with children, youth, and adults.

The working hours are scheduled every day of the year and primarily include evening and weekend work, but day shifts may also occur. Working hours may be adjusted as the working method is evaluated and depending on the current needs in the municipality.

QUALIFICATIONS

Qualifications

• At least a completed upper secondary education
• Driver's license B - 5 years of driving experience
• Proficient in Swedish, both spoken and written
• Good swimming skills

Meritorious:

• Work experience in social work or in the field of safety and security, for example, in leisure activities, healthcare, the security industry, or other experience deemed equivalent by the employer.
• Training in cardiopulmonary resuscitation
• Experience using information and reporting systems.
• Proficient in multiple languages
