In a changing world, there are increasing demands on society's ability to prevent, manage, and recover from unwanted events and challenges. The city of Malmö is working together to build a resilient Malmö where everyday life functions, even when the unexpected occurs. The Primary School Administration is now looking for an emergency coordinator who will play an important role in realizing the city's emergency preparedness policy through long-term and coordinated work with resilience, crisis preparedness, and civil defense.

The emergency coordinator leads, coordinates, and follows up on work related to crisis preparedness and civil defense and provides support to the management of the administration. The work includes developing, revising, or implementing governing documents, guidelines, and policies, as well as ensuring the administration's compliance with laws. As an emergency coordinator, you are also expected to promote systematic work within the organization regarding continuity planning, risk and vulnerability analysis, and crisis management. The assignment also includes investigation, analysis, planning, follow-up, and monitoring within the area of crisis preparedness and civil defense, as well as developing the work based on this. Coordinating crisis management, for example during an unwanted event, is also part of the assignment.

You will work together with other emergency coordinators in the city and become the link for the Primary School Administration in these matters. You will also be part of a team in the local planning unit where you will work closely with our safety coordinator.

Qualifications

You who are applying have a university degree in a relevant field of at least 180 credits and at least three years of experience in qualified work with investigation and follow-up in public operations, e.g., in security and emergency preparedness issues.

You have experience and the ability to collaborate with various community stakeholders and the ability to create and maintain good relationships.

To thrive and deliver in the assignment, we believe that you are communicative and have an easy time collaborating. You can take on a leadership role when required and have the ability to independently drive the issues you are responsible for. You have a strategic approach, but at the same time, a good ability to structure, see details, and remain calm.

You have a good ability to express yourself in Swedish both verbally and in writing.

About the Workplace

The Local Planning Unit is organizationally placed within the Finance Department and works both strategically and operationally with local-related issues. The unit provides support and relief to schools within the local area and works with the administration's long-term planning. The city of Malmö is now entering a phase with a declining population, which places demands on sharp planning for effective resource utilization. The Local Planning Unit has a mix of competencies with project managers, investigation secretaries, and procurement coordinators.
