Security Coordinator at the Swedish Migration Agency
At the Swedish Migration Agency, we work with one of the major societal issues of our time – migration. We are a total of about 6,000 people here, and we have an unusually important job!
Do you want to contribute to strengthening the security of one of Sweden's most vital authorities? At the Security Department of the Migration Agency, you will play a central role in driving and coordinating the work with operational and security protection close to the operational activities.
The Security Department of the Migration Agency is part of the headquarters and has overall responsibility for security and preparedness within the authority. Specialists work within the Security Department with information security, physical security, personnel security, crisis preparedness, civil defense, internal investigations, employee protection, and other security issues ranging from operational protection to security protection.
Main Responsibilities
As a security coordinator, you will work in the department's unit for preparedness and security coordination. In your role, you will primarily focus on operational protection issues related to the authority's detention and accommodation activities. Emphasis will be placed on supporting the operations in the development of security-related measures and routines. This includes measures related to both employee protection and physical security. In your role, you will also be responsible for investigating incidents as well as follow-up and control. You will collaborate both internally and externally. You will also serve as support to managers in management groups and be the point of contact for security issues within the department.
You will work closely with other security and preparedness coordinators. Together, you will work towards alignment and ensure that the department's coordinating and supporting tasks are in sync.
The position includes regular business trips, and standby duty may be required.
Who are you?
You are a structured and systematic person with good communication skills. You have a strong ability to convey your message in both speech and writing and can easily build relationships both within and outside the department. You are adaptable and work without prestige while also having a good ability to work independently.
In our work as civil servants, high demands are also placed on good judgment and a strong awareness of security and confidentiality.
Qualifications
Requirements
- Academic education with a focus on security, risk and crisis management, or other education combined with relevant experience for the position
- Several years of experience in security work in a locked environment, such as detention, correctional services, SIS, forensic psychiatry, or similar
- Experience in investigating incidents
- Very good knowledge of Swedish and English in both speech and writing
- Swedish citizenship
Merits
- Knowledge of and/or experience in project or assignment management
- Experience in using and interpreting standards/norms and regulations in advisory, requirement-setting, or review contexts
- Experience of working in public sector
Information
Employment type: Permanent with an initial 6-month probationary period.
Working hours: Office hours or trust-based working hours. Standby duty may be required.
Location: Norrköping, Malmö, Gothenburg, or Stockholm. The job involves travel throughout the country.
Start date: By agreement.
Individual salary setting applies within a salary range of 50,000 – 55,000 SEK per month.
Security clearance with a background check according to the Security Protection Act (2018:585) will be conducted. Based on this, there is a requirement for Swedish citizenship. Employment is contingent upon a successful security clearance.
