Hallstavik Paper Mill is now looking for an experienced and driven Work Environment Engineer who wants to lead, develop, and future-proof our work environment efforts.

Your Future Challenge

As a Work Environment Engineer at Hallstavik Paper Mill, you will have overall responsibility for leading, coordinating, and continuously developing the mill's systematic work environment efforts in line with ISO 45001, legal requirements, and Holmen's common working methods.

You will be a natural expert and a strategic support to managers, leadership, and operations – while also being operationally present where it happens. The role also entails clear responsibility towards authorities and external stakeholders.

You will belong to the HR department and work closely with HR partners, the HR manager, managers in operations, the safety organization, and corresponding functions within the Holmen Group.

Your Main Responsibilities

In this role, you will among other things:

• Lead and further develop Hallstavik Paper Mill's systematic work environment efforts according to ISO 45001
• Chair the Work Environment Council and participate in the Work Environment Committee and LAK meetings
• Act as Hallstavik's contact person towards the Swedish Work Environment Authority and other authorities
• Plan, execute, and follow up inspections, audits, and assessments, as well as drive corrective actions
• Ensure compliance with legal requirements, internal requirements, and policies regarding work environment
• Be responsible for work environment statistics, incident and work injury follow-up, and trend analyses for management and the group
• Support operations in risk assessments, change processes, and complex work environment issues
• Be responsible for and develop governing documents, safety instructions, and informational materials
• Participate in chemical issues, inventories, and investigations together with the sustainability function
• Develop and manage systems such as SSG On Site and PIA for contractors and incident reporting

Requirements:

• University degree in engineering with a focus on work environment, or equivalent work environment engineering education at university level
• Several years of experience in qualified work environment work, both operationally and strategically
• Good knowledge of work environment legislation and regulatory requirements
• Very good ability to communicate in Swedish and English, both orally and in writing
• Driver's license (B)

Meritorious:

• Experience from process industry or other heavy manufacturing operations
• Knowledge of chemical work environment risks
• Experience in internal audits, ISO standards, and/or leadership roles in improvement work
• Leadership experience or project management experience
