At the Swedish Migration Agency, we work with one of the major societal issues of our time – migration. We are about 6,000 people here, and we have an unusually important job!
We are now looking for an operations expert focused on preparedness and security for the Northern region's office, located in Sundbyberg.

The regional office supports regional and section management. The office works with operational planning, processing procedures, decision-making documents, conducts investigations, coordinates reporting, and writes internal and external consultation responses. The regional office also has a coordinating responsibility for collaboration with other authorities, regions, municipalities, and county administrative boards. As an operations expert in the Northern region's office, you need to be prepared to quickly adapt to changed tasks if necessary.
Main Responsibilities
As an operations expert focused on preparedness and security, you will work with issues related to crisis preparedness, civil defense, and security. You will be a strategic support to the regional director and other managers in the region, so it is important that you have the ability to build good relationships. You need to be attentive and able to capture the regional director's and the region's needs in the area and translate that into action.
The position is both strategic and development-oriented, which means that you will be involved in planning and shaping the assignment. The role includes, for example, planning and setting clear goals for the work in relation to the agency's focus in the area, developing preparedness and continuity plans, developing the region's crisis organization and staff work, as well as conducting training and exercises. In your role, you will collaborate with preparedness and security coordinators from the security department at the Swedish Migration Agency, but also with other offices within operational activities. External collaboration is also part of the assignment.
Who are you?
You are a good representative of the Swedish Migration Agency and the Northern region. You plan, organize, and prioritize work effectively and set goals and meet deadlines. Furthermore, you are meticulous and well aware of the importance of delivering high quality. You have analytical skills and can independently identify issues that need further investigation. The work requires you to be unpretentious and have good collaboration skills.
In our work as civil servants, high demands are also placed on judgment and a high level of security and confidentiality awareness.
You who are applying have
- A university degree of at least 120 credits in social sciences or behavioral sciences, or other education combined with relevant experience
- Current experience in preparedness and security work
- Experience in providing qualified support to managers and management teams
- Good communication skills to express yourself well in spoken and written Swedish and English
- Good knowledge of the Office suite; Word, Excel, and PowerPoint
- Swedish citizenship
It is meritorious if you have
- Current experience and good knowledge of staff or office work within public administration
- Experience in planning and conducting exercises and training, preferably in the preparedness area
- Experience in management work, for example in staff methodology and crisis organization
- Experience in work with analysis, method development, change work, and follow-up work
- Experience in coordination and implementation of working methods and methods
- Experience and good knowledge of the Swedish Migration Agency's mission and operations

Security screening with background checks according to the Security Protection Act (2018:585) will be conducted. Based on this, there is a requirement for Swedish citizenship. The employment requires an approved security screening.
