Communicator for the Procurement and Purchasing Administration

Do you want to work with communication that makes a real difference for the City of Gothenburg's operations, businesses, and residents? We are now expanding our communication team at the Procurement and Purchasing Administration and are looking for a communicator who wants to work both strategically and operationally.

In this role, you will be an important part of the administration's development work, with a particular focus on communication related to the control and follow-up of the city's contracts and suppliers.

About the job

As a communicator, you will provide strategic and operational support to the organization in communication matters. You will be the third communicator in the administration's communication team while specifically supporting our operations that work to ensure fair competition in the city's procurements.

Your tasks include, for example:

  • Supporting long-term communication planning and contributing to clear and effective messages.
  • Ensuring that communication follows the city's guidelines and aligns with the organization's mission.
  • Supporting the development of content in various internal and external channels, such as web, newsletters, digital collaboration spaces, and various meetings.
  • Providing advice on channel selection and target group adaptation for different operations and roles within the city that constitute the administration's customers.
  • Supporting communication towards external target groups such as suppliers and entrepreneurs, politicians, the public, and in media contacts.
  • Providing communicative support during the launch of training and development initiatives.

As the position develops and is implemented in the organization, while you grow into your role, additional tasks may be added.

About you

We are looking for someone who has a completed academic degree at least at the bachelor's level in communication or other education that the employer deems equivalent. You have at least three years of experience working independently as a communicator and are accustomed to planning, executing, and following up on communication efforts.

It is advantageous if you have experience working in the public sector. If you have also worked with project communication, communication related to procurement and purchasing, or have worked with entrepreneurs/businesses as a target group, we consider that an advantage.

We are looking for someone who is stable and secure in their professional role and who works systematically even in complex contexts. You are development-oriented and actively contribute to improving work methods and communication efforts based on the organization's needs. You are attentive and have a good ability to take in different perspectives, which allows you to adapt communication efforts according to the situation and desired effect.

Furthermore, you are collaborative and enjoy working closely with both colleagues within the organization and colleagues and functions outside. You have a good overall view and understand how communication work can be designed to contribute to the organization's overall goals. At the same time, you have an analytical ability that allows you to understand complex information, draw relevant conclusions, and translate these into clear and purposeful communication.

Other

With us, you will work with knowledgeable and wonderful colleagues on a meaningful mission that impacts and makes a difference for many. We want our workplace to be characterized by dialogue and collaboration and promote a sustainable work life with balance. We work in pleasant premises right in the city and offer employee benefits such as flexible working hours, wellness grants, and cycling benefits.
