The Church of Sweden is where people are.
Close to where you live and on the other side of the world. We are everywhere for those who want and need – in loneliness, crisis, joy, and sorrow, in important events and in everyday life. No matter who you are and what faith you have. Working within the Church of Sweden means a wide range from theology and justice issues to sustainability, economics, and community development.
Gothenburg Cathedral Parish was established on January 1, 2018, and consists of six congregations, nine churches, a hospital church, and a university church. We belong to the Diocese of Gothenburg. The parish serves 75,000 people, and 60,000 people work daily in the city center. The parish is led by the dean and a church council. Each of the congregations has a parish priest and a parish council. The local congregations are the starting point for most of the church's activities. However, cooperation between the congregations occurs in several areas, including confirmation and diaconate. There are also two preschools in the parish.
Are you passionate about taking an active role in the financial closing? Do you want to work with budgets and support the various congregations of the organization? Then this position is for you!

- handle ongoing accounting tasks such as cash handling, collection handling, and all customer invoicing
We see that you
- have a university degree in economics or equivalent – preferably with a focus on controller function or management economics
- have several years of experience in accounting and management and have worked consultatively in broad economist and/or controller roles
- are used to working independently with budgets, financial closing, financial analysis, governance, and follow-up
- enjoy working strategically and are accustomed to seeking information within the organization
- are familiar with various financial systems and Microsoft 365 - especially Excel, and you have very good knowledge of Swedish
- have experience working within the Church of Sweden, public administration, or associations
- if you have also worked with the management of foundations, funds, and donation funds, it is a plus
- are a person who can handle work peaks well. You are secure, unpretentious, and work methodically and structured. You contribute joy to the workplace and are a stable support when the organization needs assistance with financial matters.
- share the values of the Church of Sweden. We place great emphasis on personal suitability.
At the Cathedral Parish, you will receive a role with a clear operational assignment, the opportunity to influence and develop financial functions, and close cooperation with engaged colleagues. A work environment where collaboration, responsibility, and long-term thinking are highly valued.
