The Finance function at Chalmers is a central part of our operations and contributes to ensuring a professional handling of financial management and administration. Here you will have the chance to work closely with both researchers and management in a dynamic and developing environment. We are now looking for 2 committed economists who want to be part of our teams at Chalmers – a workplace where development, quality, and diversity are at the center.

About us The finance functions at Chalmers are characterized by a professional handling of our financial management and administration. The function is represented both in the operational work at our 12 subject departments and in the university-wide management with its support organizations.

We are now looking for 2 economists for the different departments of Physics and Astronomy as well as Environmental and Energy Sciences.

You will physically sit close to the administrators, economists, researchers, and teachers you support in daily work. In the organization, we have several economists in the different departments, and you are surrounded by researchers and students from all over the world. Here is the chance to be an important piece in an exciting and international research world.

What the role entails: Main tasks include:

  • Advisor in financial matters to managers and project leaders.

  • Budgeting, monitoring, forecasting, and analysis of projects and operations.

  • Financial project reporting to funders.

  • Participate in the department's budget and year-end work.

  • Ensure good accounting in accordance with internal and external regulations.

  • Interpretation of terms from funders and other contractual parties.

We are looking for someone who has:

  • A degree in economics, vocational training, or equivalent.

  • At least 3-5 years of qualified financial work in accounting, budgeting, and year-end work.

  • Experience from work within financial and administrative support systems.

  • Good ability in spoken and written Swedish and English.

Meritorious:

  • Previous experience of being responsible for the entire financial process.

  • Project reporting.

  • Qualified work within higher education/university.

  • EU reporting.

  • Experience from support systems Raindance and Hypergene.
