We are now looking for a regional developer tasked with leading the work at the regional whistleblower function – a role for you who want to play a central part in ensuring that fraud and irregularities within Västra Götalandsregionen's operations are detected and addressed. With us, you can combine strategic development work, operational management, and broad collaboration to create transparent and legally secure processes.
Your Assignment
Västra Götalandsregionen has a regional whistleblower function according to the provisions of the Act (2021:890) on the protection of persons reporting misconduct. The function is organized within the Legal Department at the Corporate Office and handles whistleblowing within all of the region's operations.
As a regional developer, you will lead the work at the regional whistleblower function. The work includes:
- Daily operational management of the whistleblower function. Handling incoming cases, distributing cases to relevant administrations, and following up on investigations conducted.
- Preparing materials for the responsible steering group for decisions on handling whistleblower cases.
- Strategic development work of the whistleblower function. Managing and developing regional guidelines and routines for the whistleblower function, as well as developing new working methods and processes.
- Reporting and follow-up to relevant boards and committees of incoming whistleblowing cases.
- Training and support for local investigators in methods and reporting.
- Information, lectures, and workshops about the whistleblower function.
- Collaboration with other relevant actors within the region and with other authorities and organizations.
- Monitoring the area.

To Succeed in the Role, You Need:
- An academic degree in, for example, political science, economics, law, or human resources, or other relevant education deemed suitable by the employer.
- Several years of experience in reviewing and investigating irregularities and inaccuracies within public operations.
Desirable Qualifications:
- Experience in operational work with whistleblower functions according to the Act (2021:890) on the protection of persons reporting misconduct.
- Experience in development work regarding working methods, processes, and organization in the area of irregularities and fraud.
- Experience working in a politically governed organization.
- Experience as a controller, investigator, auditor, or in compliance.
- Experience in developing and delivering training in the area.
As a person, you have high integrity and independence and are proactive and driven. In addition to relevant knowledge and the ability to work effectively and independently, there are high demands on being responsive and flexible. You work selflessly in collaboration with others and communicate in a trustworthy manner in various contexts. Great emphasis will be placed on personal suitability.
Good knowledge of Swedish, both spoken and written, is a requirement.
