Analyst in Bank Policy at the Financial Supervisory Authority

Do you want to contribute to a stable financial system and develop methods that strengthen the resilience of the banking sector? Do you have experience in conducting stress tests of banks' capital relationships and developing models for risk and capital adequacy? Apply for this job as an analyst with us at the Financial Supervisory Authority (FI)!

About the Job

As an analyst in the Bank Policy unit within the Banking area, you will be part of the team that works with stress tests of banks' capital relationships. The unit is also responsible for identifying companies that should be subject to buffers for systemically important institutions and reviewing the systemic risk buffer. It writes the banking section of the stability report and drives policy issues regarding capital, liquidity, and crisis management.

Your primary responsibility will be to conduct and develop the work with stress tests, mainly those related to banks' capital adequacy. This includes both the sensitivity-based stress tests that FI uses to determine a bank's Pillar 2 guidance and more macro-based stress tests, such as the EBA stress test. You will develop the models and methods used to conduct the stress tests, such as models for credit losses in stress and risk-weight migration.

You will present your work and conclusions internally and engage in dialogue with other stability-promoting authorities. Additionally, you will serve as a sounding board for the department's more junior employees, sharing your knowledge and experience.

Your Education and Experience

We are looking for someone who

  • has a relevant academic degree in economics, financial economics, statistics, or equivalent
  • has several years of work experience, largely in the form of work with stress tests, primarily of banks' capital relationships, within another relevant authority or the financial sector
  • has good knowledge of how to conduct stress tests of banks' capital relationships and the methods used.

It is advantageous if you

  • have a doctoral degree in economics, financial economics, statistics, or equivalent
  • have worked with stress tests within the framework of a bank's ICAAP
  • have good knowledge of the regulations governing banks' operations, especially capital adequacy regulations (CRD/CRR).

About You

In this job, you need to

  • work independently based on the values and guidelines that govern the operations
  • drive your work forward and make decisions within your area of responsibility
  • have good analytical skills and be able to solve complex tasks
  • take initiative.
