Do you want to be part of the Ministry for Foreign Affairs' sanctions work? We are looking for someone who wants to work with sanctions issues in an international environment. Does that sound interesting and challenging? Then this might be the job for you!

We offer an important and interesting job in a dynamic environment. As a staff member in sanctions coordination, you will be part of a small, strong team working on horizontal substance and process issues in sanctions management, both nationally and in the EU, as well as in the UN.

The sanctions instrument has increased in both scope and political significance in recent years. As a case officer in sanctions coordination, you will be responsible for policy development and horizontal coordination within sanctions policy. The position also includes support and method development for geographical and functional units that handle individual sanction regimes. You will assist the Ministry's coordinator for sanctions issues, together with another colleague. You will represent Sweden in certain EU consultations and support the negotiation work in the EU, as well as in relevant UN processes. You will handle issues related to compliance with sanctions. The work requires close cooperation with relevant departments and authorities, as well as contacts with the business community and the research world.

The work in sanctions coordination is characterized by a collaborative work climate and requires good judgment, strong legal competence, and the ability to find solutions to complex issues.

Your background

You have at least two years of relevant work experience from the Government Offices or another Swedish authority. You have relevant legal competence and good knowledge of international sanctions and sanctions work. Experience from the private sector is an advantage. The position requires good language skills in both Swedish and English, both spoken and written. You have a good understanding of the Government Offices' working methods and understand the demands placed in a politically governed organization.

This is a permanent position that begins with a six-month probationary period. Start date as soon as possible. The position is classified in a security class, and a security screening with a background check will be conducted before a hiring decision is made. You must be a Swedish citizen.
