Experienced Analyst

Do you want to make a societal impact and contribute to safer care and support by developing state supervision and licensing? The Health and Social Care Inspectorate (IVO) is growing and is now looking for an analyst for the Analysis Department in Stockholm.

About the Job

As an analyst, you will work with data-driven analysis and the authority's statistical production. You will work with:

  • modeling, to quantitatively work with, e.g., risk-based supervision, quality, patient and user focus, as well as analysis of unscrupulous and criminal actors
  • developing the authority's own data sources regarding quality and usability
  • producing statistics from various data sources from internal or external inquiries.

You often work on several assignments simultaneously, in close collaboration with different professions and functions within the authority. The work is team-based and characterized by a holistic perspective, collaboration, and development – while you are expected to be able to drive parts of the work independently.

The position is a permanent employment with a six-month probationary period, located in Stockholm or Örebro.

Qualifications

We are looking for someone who has:

  • an academic university or college degree with a clear focus on quantitative methods, or other education/experience deemed equivalent
  • at least 5 years of documented experience and deep methodological knowledge of qualified quantitative analysis work
  • current experience with statistical programs, such as R, SAS, or STATA. IVO works in R
  • the ability to independently drive analysis projects, both internally and in collaboration with relevant parties
  • experience writing clear, correct, and well-structured reports and other documents
  • the ability to clearly explain complex analyses and relationships, as well as a confident and professional presentation technique before different target groups
  • very good knowledge of Swedish, both spoken and written.

To succeed in the role, we are looking for someone with excellent collaboration skills who enjoys working together with others to achieve common goals. You have strong analytical skills and can translate complex information into clear conclusions. Your communicative strength allows you to convey messages in a clear, concise, and trustworthy manner, both orally and in writing.

We also value your ability to see the big picture while being solution-oriented when challenges arise. With a good sense of structure, you can relate to the overarching goal and create progress in the work.

We consider it an advantage if you also have experience in:

  • analysis work within health care or social services
  • documented work experience in analysis activities at an authority or equivalent.

Workplace Description

The Analysis Department conducts extensive and exciting work to develop a more risk-based and data-driven supervision and has a strategic role for the authority. The department is part of the core operations where collaboration with supervision and licensing is an important part. Currently, over 60 employees work in the department across four units with assignments in analysis, statistics, registers, and information services. The goal is to contribute to accurate and uniform supervision and share our knowledge.

The position is located in one of our analysis units that work on assignments at the cross-authority level. The unit primarily conducts quantitative analysis work within IVO's entire area of responsibility, which includes both health care, dental care, and social services. Examples of tasks within the unit include risk analyses within supervisory work, selection analyses, and compilations of statistics and data.

The mission of the Health and Social Care Inspectorate (IVO) is to contribute to care and support that is safe, of good quality, and conducted in accordance with laws and other regulations through supervision and licensing.

The authority has about 800 employees. The supervisory work is conducted at six regional departments across the country. The departments for licensing, analysis, planning, communication, and operational support are located in Stockholm, as is the director general's office.
