Job Responsibilities

As a health promoter, you will be part of the dental care team at 1–2 clinics and act as a bridge to other arenas where families with young children are active. Your main task is to support families at high risk for caries disease by promoting behavior changes that strengthen health.

You will:

• Conduct individual health conversations with parents of children (0–6 years) at risk for or with caries disease, based on theories of behavior change.
• Support parents in developing parenting skills and responsibility for their children's health.
• Develop and implement collaborative forms with actors such as preschools and family centers.
• Plan and carry out health-promoting initiatives and inspire a health-promoting approach.
• Present the concept to various target groups and contribute to the development of new activities.
• Maintain ongoing contact with partners.

The position is located at 1–2 clinics in the Gothenburg area.

Qualifications

We are looking for someone who has:

• A bachelor's degree as a health promoter/health scientist, for example from a Health Promotion program or similar, preferably with a focus on nutrition science.
• Knowledge in public health science and/or behavioral science (meritorious).
• An understanding of the determinants of health and a strong commitment to reducing health disparities.
• An interest in contributing to Folktandvården's and the region's health-promoting work.
• Experience working in dental care is meritorious.

Personal qualities:
We place great emphasis on being proactive, results-oriented, and having the ability to drive activities forward. You are structured and can plan, organize, and prioritize your work effectively. Experience in individual health conversations focusing on behavior change and working with guardians and children is meritorious. The role requires good collaboration skills and the ability to communicate clearly, engagingly, and attentively in various contexts.
