About us
Our strength is that Essunga is one of Sweden's smallest municipalities! We work in an uncomplicated manner across operational boundaries and in networks with other municipalities. This provides a holistic perspective and manageability for both employees and residents. Changes become visible in a small municipality, which gives us who work here the satisfaction of seeing the results of our efforts. You have great opportunities to influence, and our short decision-making paths yield quick results. We welcome you to Essunga Municipality in the heart of Västra Götaland. The central town of Nossebro is an hour's drive from Gothenburg and about half an hour from Alingsås, Vårgårda, Trollhättan, and Vänersborg. Make a real difference – every day
Do you want to work in a municipality where your commitment truly matters and where you have the opportunity to make an impact? We are now strengthening our unit for children and youth and are looking for three dedicated social workers. For one of the positions, there is also a part-time assignment as a senior social worker. In Essunga Municipality, we work closely together, with short decision-making paths and a strong focus on collaboration and development. With us, you will have the space to grow, both professionally and personally, while contributing to a safer future for children and youth in our municipality.
About the role
As a social worker with us, you will have a varied and meaningful assignment where you meet children, young people, and their families in different life situations. You will work both independently and in close collaboration with colleagues, other professionals, and external actors. The unit is responsible for investigating, assessing, and making decisions regarding support and protection needs for children, young people, and their families. The work is governed by the Social Services Act (SoL) and, when necessary, the Special Provisions Act for the Care of Young People (LVU) as well as other relevant legislation such as LVM, LSB, and LSS. Through a focus on home-based solutions, we work with change processes together with families in close collaboration with outpatient care.
Your role includes:
· Conducting investigations and needs assessments according to applicable legislation.
· Following cases from first contact to follow-up, focusing on sustainable and long-term solutions.
· Collaborating in teams and networks with, for example, schools, healthcare, other parts of social services, and various authorities.
· Contributing to preventive work and the development of the organization.
· Receiving including preliminary assessments.
· Investigating foster homes and being their foster care secretary.
· Following up on children's placements in the role of child secretary.
In the role of Senior Social Worker, you will partially work with case management but also provide guidance and some leadership. The role also includes:
· Representing the board in court.
· Methodically guiding social workers.
· Conducting self-assessments and internal controls.
· Developing and improving routines and processes.
Essunga is a smaller municipality where changes are quickly noticeable; here you will quickly see the results of your work and have the opportunity to influence both work methods and development.
Who are you?
We are looking for someone who is a trained social worker or has another higher education that the employer deems equivalent. We prefer that you have worked with authority exercise and with the target group of children and youth. It is advantageous if you have BBiC basic training and have worked with the case management system LifeCare.
You are a person who likes to take responsibility and initiative, always with the child's best interests in focus. You thrive in a day-to-day environment that can vary and where you sometimes need to think outside the box. With your flexibility, you find solutions even when circumstances change. At the same time, you have a good structure in your work; you plan and prioritize in a way that creates security for both you and those you meet. You enjoy collaborating, willingly sharing your thoughts and experiences, and see the strength in working together to achieve common goals.
Why Essunga Municipality?
We offer you:
· A close and warm working community with colleagues who support each other.
· Short decision-making paths and good opportunities to influence.
· Professional development and support in your role.
· A work environment where your ideas and engagement are valued.
Do you want to help create safety for children and youth in Essunga? Warmly welcome to become part of our dedicated team!
