Job Responsibilities

We are taking a new approach at Morängatan – would you like to join us in creating a positive and developing everyday life for our tenants?

We are now looking for eight new Support Assistants who want to work in an organization where we collaboratively develop methods, approaches, and practices to provide the best possible support for the individuals living with us.

Morängatan is a residence with special services for adults with neuropsychiatric diagnoses and mental health issues. Here, ten tenants live, each with individual needs, interests, and circumstances. As a support assistant, you play a central role in providing support that enhances independence and creates a safe and meaningful daily life. By working based on implementation plans, you ensure that each tenant's needs are prioritized and that support is provided in a respectful and professional manner.

In your work, you motivate tenants in their daily lives, both inside and outside the home. This may involve encouraging social activities, supporting contacts outside the residence, or creating opportunities for enriching leisure activities based on the tenant's interests. You also provide assistance with everyday tasks such as personal hygiene, laundry, cleaning, and cooking.

You collaborate with guardians, social workers, healthcare professionals, and family members, and are part of a team where respectful interaction, method development, and a low-arousal approach are integral parts of daily life. The work also includes social documentation, medication management, and insulin administration as delegated. The role may sometimes involve working alone, which makes it important that you feel secure with the target group and confident in your professional interactions.

The residence offers support around the clock, and working hours are scheduled for days, evenings, and every other weekend. We use Time Care Planning for operationally adapted schedules.

With us, you will have a varied and meaningful job where you make a real difference – every day.

Warm welcome to submit your application!

Qualifications

We are looking for someone who has a degree from the Health and Care program, support assistant training, or the Child and Leisure program with a focus on social or pedagogical work. The educational requirement is also met if you have a post-secondary specialization in the disability area that includes at least 200 YH points, 120 higher education credits, or a combination thereof equivalent to at least four semesters of full-time studies. Alternatively, 60 higher education credits and at least two years of experience working with support and services for individuals with disabilities. The education should have relevant credits in behavioral science, pedagogy, psychology, social work, and (psychiatric) nursing or other education deemed equivalent by the employer.

You need to have a passing grade in Swedish 1 or Swedish as a second language 1. If you do not meet this requirement, you may be required to take a language test through Educateit.

It is advantageous if you have experience with the target group and knowledge in neuropsychiatry, as well as experience working with low-arousal approaches (LAB), motivational interviewing (MI), and independent living (ESL). Previous experience in the disability sector or other areas of health and care is also valuable.

We are looking for someone who is friendly and helpful, and who shows respect for everyone you meet in your work. You have a positive, inviting attitude and always work to ensure that the tenant receives the support and assistance they need. You maintain a good demeanor even in stressful situations and are attentive, responsive, and open to understanding the needs and feelings of others.

You collaborate well with others by listening and showing interest, and you have the ability to plan, organize, and prioritize your work effectively. You are stable, secure, and professional even when situations become challenging.
