Job Responsibilities

We are now looking for a new support assistant for our service housing in the center at Kabelgatan 2.

We opened in September 2022 and consist of 8 apartments where the target group primarily consists of individuals with psychiatric diagnoses.

We are looking for someone who wants to work awake nights and enjoys working independently to support our tenants. The tenants at the service housing have various psychiatric diagnoses, substance abuse, comorbidity, or high-functioning autism. Your task is to work together with your colleagues to create a service residence that promotes self-determination, participation, and where tenants are inspired and motivated to use, challenge, and develop their abilities. We work with individual pedagogical solutions to provide each tenant with good conditions for success and thereby development. The residence is a 24-hour operation where we base our work on the tenants' needs and may need to revise working hours accordingly.

We work according to evidence-based methods such as ESL, MI, LAB, and clarifying pedagogy. In the role of support assistant, contact person responsibility is included, which means you have extended responsibility for one or more tenants. This includes developing individually tailored working methods, social documentation, and collaborating within the professional network around the tenant. There is a support pedagogue available to assist you in this work.

You will contribute to and be part of a good working environment, creating a favorable climate for both tenant and colleague development. Together, we do important and meaningful work that makes a difference in people's lives. Your tasks also include medication management according to delegation and common household tasks such as cooking, laundry, and cleaning.

Qualifications

We are looking for someone who has a degree from the Health and Care Program, support assistant training, or the Child and Leisure Program with a focus on social or educational work. Alternatively, 60 university credits and at least two years of experience working with support and service for individuals with disabilities. The education should have relevant credits in behavioral science, pedagogy, psychology, social work, and (psychiatric) care. You need to have a passing grade in Swedish 1 or Swedish as a second language 1. Those who do not meet the qualification requirements may be offered to take a language test through the test user Educateit.

You have previous experience working in psychiatry, and we consider it an advantage if you have worked with individuals with substance abuse and comorbidity. Additionally, knowledge of working with methods such as MI (motivational interviewing), ESL (an independent life), and LAB (low-arousal approach) is advantageous.

As a person, we see that you possess qualities such as flexibility, a holistic view, interest in and ability to work collaboratively in developing new working methods. It is important that you are attentive to the signals you receive and encourage tenants to express their own will. You should have a good attitude, strong pedagogical skills, and patience. You collaborate well with your colleagues while being comfortable working alone.

Other

In this recruitment, you will be asked to answer a number of questions where you describe your knowledge in the area instead of sending a personal letter. You must request an extract from the police's criminal record yourself. This can be done via e-service or with the help of a form available on the police's website (Form for requesting an extract for an individual, extract no. 442.3).
