Treatment Pedagogue with Awake Night Duty
The Swedish National Board of Institutional Care, SiS, is an authority responsible for individually tailored compulsory care for young people and adults with substance abuse issues. We do this in youth homes and homes for adults with substance abuse, across the country. Working with us at SiS will be an exciting challenge. SiS youth home Fagared receives non-school-attending boys with psychosocial problems, criminality, and substance abuse. We have departments in Lindome, Öxnevalla, and Gothenburg.
Job Description
Do you want to help create the life-changing difference for vulnerable people? Then the job as a treatment pedagogue with awake night duty at SiS youth home Fagared, Lindome unit is a meaningful challenge. The work aims to provide our youth with good care and support around the clock. We are now looking for staff who can work awake nights on both weekdays and weekends according to a schedule, for our unit in Lindome. In the departments in Lindome, we work to implement closed youth care for the target group of boys who have been sentenced to a criminal penalty under the law on closed youth care. The overarching purpose of the work in these departments is to reintegrate the sentenced youth into society.
As a treatment pedagogue with night duty, you play a significant role in the stability and safety of our youth. You contribute to maintaining safety in the institution during the night according to our routines, and you supervise the department and the institution's area. You assist the day staff with evening routines in the department, support the youth at night as needed, are responsible for answering the phone, and document as required. In addition, certain cleaning tasks according to established cleaning routines are included. You will work to build secure relationships and contribute to ensuring that our youth receive the safety and security they need to break old habits. The job is often demanding but also stimulating, joyful, and varied.
Our vision is to be a place for change, and this permeates our approach, our commitment, and our attitude. As a new employee, you will undergo SiS basic training for 10 weeks. The training combines theory with a guided introduction, preparing you for the treatment role in SiS operations.
Qualifications
Your personal suitability is key to life-changing transformation. Therefore, you need to have a good ability to create engagement and participation. Equally important is that you have a solid positive view of humanity, great empathy, and the ability to build good relationships. You have good communication skills and can maintain your calm even in stressful situations. You also have the ability to collaborate with others and are happy to share your knowledge with colleagues.
You should also have:
- High school education
- At least 2 years of post-secondary education at a folk high school or vocational college (KY/YH) or other education equivalent to this. The education should be focused on social work, social pedagogy, behavioral science, or another relevant subject area.
- Driver's license B
- Good Swedish in speech and writing
Meritorious experiences:
- Experience from client-facing work
- Experience working with our target group (e.g., youth care, LSU, etc.)
- Education in care and welfare
- Experience working awake nights

Employment
Working hours are according to a schedule, nights - weekdays and weekends.
The positions are permanent and begin with a six-month probationary period. Start date according to agreement.
