Job Description

Take the opportunity to try an interesting summer position as a treatment assistant at SiS.

The goal of your assignment is to motivate our youth to adopt new and less risky ways of living. As a treatment assistant, you will help ensure that the routines in the department function as they should. You play a significant role in the stability and safety of our youth, providing the foundation for daily life, such as schooling, cleaning, cooking, and more. You will contribute to maintaining safety in the institution according to our routines. Documentation is an important part of your work. You will work on building good treatment relationships and ensure that our youth receive the security and safety they need to break old habits. Together with your team of engaged colleagues, such as treatment pedagogues and treatment coordinators, you have the opportunity to achieve good results and contribute to change. The job is often demanding but also stimulating, joyful, and varied.

The working hours are according to a schedule of days, evenings, and weekends.

As a summer substitute at SiS, you will undergo a tailored introductory training to prepare you for your assignment.

Qualifications

You should have:

  • At least a 2-year post-secondary education at a folk high school or vocational college (KY/YH) or other education equivalent to this. The education should be focused on social work, social pedagogy, behavioral science, or another relevant field.
  • Experience working with people in vulnerable life situations, e.g., work in psychiatry or LSS care.
  • A valid driver's license (B).
  • Good Swedish language skills in both spoken and written form.

It is also meritorious if you have:

  • Experience from client-facing positions in the Swedish Prison and Probation Service, e.g., as a correctional officer.
  • Security guard training.
  • Training in health and social care.
  • Experience working with our target group (e.g., youth care, young girls, etc.).

Your personal suitability is key to life-changing transformations. Therefore, you need to have a good ability to create engagement and participation. Equally important is that you have a solid positive view of humanity, great empathetic ability, and the ability to establish good treatment relationships. You have good communication skills and can remain calm even in pressured situations. You also have the ability to collaborate with others and are willing to share your knowledge with colleagues.

You share our vision of being a place for change, and this permeates your approach, commitment, and attitude.

*Exceptions to the requirement for at least a two-year post-secondary education may be made in individual cases if there are special reasons according to Chapter 5, Section 4 of the Social Services Ordinance (2025:468).

We want to reward those who help us during the summer period; therefore, those who work full-time as monthly employed summer substitutes for more than four weeks will receive a bonus. Read more here (https://www.stat-inst.se/jobba-hos-oss/lediga-jobb/).

Employment

  • The position is a full-time temporary position during our holiday periods (June, July, August). We primarily prioritize those who can work both periods, then those who can work one of them. If you can only work sporadic weeks or between periods, this needs to be communicated early.
  • It is desirable and advantageous if you can start working as a temporary employee before the temporary position begins, but this is not a requirement.
