Responsibilities

As a Senior Social Secretary (1st Social Secretary), you will provide support and supervision to both new and experienced social secretaries in their daily work. The social secretaries investigate and follow up on measures for both Mellerud and Bengtsfors municipalities. The main assignment for the Senior Social Secretary is to provide case supervision and methodological guidance, both individually and in groups. The assignment includes staying updated on new research, legislation, and directives, as well as ensuring their implementation in daily operational work. You will participate in creating and maintaining routines and functioning processes in daily work. In close collaboration with the Senior Social Secretary for the reception unit and the unit manager, you will follow up on the unit's goals and results and drive the unit's development forward. 

 

As a Senior Social Secretary, you will: 

  • Act as a subject matter expert with good knowledge of child and youth care.
  • Support social secretaries with prioritization in daily work and towards the goal of working independently.
  • Be responsible for, together with the Senior Social Secretary at the reception unit, conducting case supervision and group methodological guidance.
  • Participate in the development of the organization.
  • Introduce and support new employees. 
  • Review written documents and provide feedback. 
  • Follow up that routines, legislation, and legally secure processing are complied with. 
  • Represent cases before the council, administrative court, and court of appeal.
  • Participate in creating a good working environment. 

Your assignment takes place in close collaboration with the unit manager, and you will also have access to external supervision together with other Senior Social Secretaries from some of the Dalsland municipalities.

Qualifications

We are looking for someone who has:

  • A degree in Social Work or equivalent education that meets the eligibility requirements to perform certain tasks in the social services' child and youth care.
  • Several years of experience in the exercise of authority within child and youth care.
  • Very good knowledge of current legislation and the handling of children, young people, and their families, as well as good knowledge of and experience with BBIC (Barns behov i centrum).
  • Good ability to organize, prioritize, and express yourself well in speech and writing.
  • Good ability to create and maintain trusting relationships, both with those we meet and with the work group and other partners.
  • Enjoy the role of leading, supporting, and developing through a coaching approach.
  • A commitment to the rights and well-being of children and young people.

Previous experience in team leadership is an asset. 

A B-class driver's license is a requirement.
