The position is located within the Social Services unit for Prevention and Services, but the work is carried out in a cross-professional school social work team in close collaboration with school staff and student health services. The focus is on strengthening students' safety, participation, and school attendance through early and coordinated interventions.

The unit has a well-developed outpatient care with short paths to support measures and is directed towards children, young people, and their families. Within the unit, there is staff working proactively and preventively, as well as family counselors and family therapists working with various support measures. We work from a family-oriented and systems-theoretical perspective, with Signs of Safety as a common approach.

Our upcoming school social work teams are under construction, and we are now expanding our resources. The municipality has had an attendance team for several years, which we are now developing for even closer collaboration between school and social services. Therefore, we are looking for two experienced and engaged family therapists with competence in working with children, young people, and their families. The school social work team's mission is to detect and prevent problems related to school absenteeism at an early stage. The team includes a school counselor, a special education teacher, and family therapists from social services. The interventions are preventive and relationship-building, aimed at strengthening students' school attachment and countering school absenteeism. The goal is clear – all children should be given the conditions to succeed in school and manage their future on their own.

We operate from pleasant premises centrally located in Mölnlycke, but a large part of the working time will be spent in school environments. In the premises in Mölnlycke, there is management and other colleagues.

Your Assignment

As a family therapist in the school social work team, you will work with a focus on the student's social situation and the family's conditions. The goal is to strengthen school attendance, well-being, and the student's ability to succeed in school and achieve learning goals. You will function as an important link between school, home, and social services, contributing the social services' perspective to student health work. The work takes place in close collaboration with the school's student health services and other professions in the team.

Your tasks include, among others:

• participating in mapping, planning, and implementation of interventions in cases of problematic school absenteeism
• working with family therapy and parental support
• carrying out proactive work, where home visits are a natural part
• supporting guardians in questions regarding structure, parenting, and contact with authorities
• contributing to coordination between different actors around the child

The work is varied and takes place both independently and in a team, which requires flexibility and initiative. You work systematically and knowledge-based with follow-up and coordination. The goal is to increase the student's school attendance, strengthen the conditions for achieving learning goals, and create sustainable collaboration forms and solutions for children and young people.

Requirements for the Position

We are looking for you who are a social worker or have another higher education that the employer assesses as equivalent. You have a background in school, social services, or similar activities and have experience of collaborating with different professions to achieve clear goals. You need previous experience of working with children/young people and family therapy work.

It is an asset if you have experience of working with children who have problematic school absenteeism as well as knowledge regarding NPD (Neurodevelopmental Disorders) and mental illness.

Furthermore, we would like you to have relevant further education, for example in family therapy, systems theory, FFT, Repulse, or other equivalent methods.
