Description

Youth Worker/Family Therapist for First-line Child Welfare

Do you want to work closely with children, young people, and families at an early stage – with a focus on promoting, preventive, supportive, and developmental measures?

We are now looking for a youth worker/family therapist for our operations within first-line child welfare.

About the Position

The position is located within first-line child welfare and primarily involves work within:

  • The municipality's meeting places for children and young people
  • Targeted measures and promoting activities in schools
  • Measures within IUB (interventions without a support decision)
  • Collaboration with school social work teams

Family therapy is included as the implementation of decided measures. The work is characterized by an early preventive perspective with a focus on strengthening children and young people's protective factors and families' capabilities.

Within the meeting places, we actively work with creative and artistic forms of expression as part of the preventive work. Through, for example, art, music, film, and other aesthetic processes, children and young people are given the opportunity to express themselves, develop their skills, and strengthen their identity and participation.

The operation is permeated by an inclusive and norm-aware approach with a special focus on LGBTQI+ perspectives. The meeting places should be safe spaces where all young people, regardless of gender identity, gender expression, or sexual orientation, feel welcome, represented, and respected.

You will work both individually and in teams, as well as in close collaboration with schools, social services, and other actors.

Responsibilities

  • Create safe and trusting relationships with children, young people, and families
  • Work with learning processes, participation, and young people's influence
  • Plan and lead creative activities at meeting places
  • Work proactively and preventively in young people's environments
  • Carry out targeted measures in schools
  • Carry out supportive and therapeutic measures within the framework of IUB
  • Implement family therapy
  • Collaborate with school social work teams and carry out school social work measures
  • Document according to current guidelines

Evening and weekend duties are included.

Qualifications

We are looking for you who have:

  • Relevant post-secondary education, such as social work, therapeutic pedagogy, social pedagogy, or equivalent education
  • Experience of working with children, young people, and families
  • Good knowledge of preventive and early interventions

Merits include experience of:

  • Creative work with young people, for example in art, film, music, or other creative forms of expression
  • Using creative methods as tools in social change work
  • Family therapy or outpatient work
  • School social work
  • IUB measures
  • Norm-critical work and LGBTQI+ competence

Personal Attributes

You are:

  • Relationship-building and secure in meetings with children, young people, and adults
  • Creative and able to engage through different forms of expression
  • Flexible and solution-focused
  • Independent but also used to working in teams
  • Committed to preventive social work and the equal value of all children and young people

We Offer

  • Meaningful work where you make a difference early in children's and young people's lives
  • An engaged team with broad competence
  • An operation in development with a focus on collaboration and quality
  • Opportunities for professional development

Welcome to apply!
