At Vidbo and Lindhult, you work closely with people who are deafblind and have physical disabilities. This is work that requires commitment, presence, and care, but it also gives a lot back. Vidbo and Lindhult are centrally located in Gothenburg, near Östra Hospital.

About the work

Your main tasks involve providing support in daily chores and activities, such as personal care, cooking, cleaning, and leisure activities. You work together with colleagues in a team where you support each other and create a safe and meaningful everyday life.

At Vidbo and Lindhult, people with congenital or early-onset deafblindness combined with physical disabilities live, which implies a significant need for care. The work is therefore very close to healthcare and includes support in personal care, transfers, and other practical aspects of daily life. Heavy lifting occurs, and the work can sometimes be physically demanding.

In our operations, we work with, among other things, low-arousal approach, AKK (Augmentative and Alternative Communication), and sensory stimulation – working methods that help us meet each individual in a safe and respectful way.

About the positions

We are looking for both summer substitutes and hourly substitutes.

A summer substitute position implies full-time work according to a schedule during weeks 25–33. You state your availability in the application. There is an opportunity to work hourly before the summer period to get into the work.

As an hourly substitute, you have flexible working hours that can be scheduled for day, evening, or night, both on weekdays and weekends. You state your own availability and receive requests for shifts.

Qualifications

You applying for the position must be 18 years of age, in accordance with regulations on the working environment for minors (AFS 2023:2).

To be able to maintain documentation, you must master the Swedish language in speech and writing. This implies a requirement for passed grades in Swedish 1, Swedish as a second language 1, or equivalent. If you do not meet this, you may be offered to take a language test via the test user Educateit.

It is meritorious, but not a requirement, if you:

• are trained as a nursing assistant, support assistant, or have other education that the employer considers equivalent, or alternatively have ongoing education within care and welfare
• have previous work experience in care and welfare, nursing, or social work
• have experience of working with people who are deafblind

The most important thing for us is that you have the right attitude and a willingness to provide support, care, and nursing to people with extensive needs.

We are looking for someone who is responsible and takes responsibility for both your own and the group's tasks. You are helpful and respectful in meetings with other people, even in stressful situations. You are calm and secure in pressured situations, can balance different demands, and make well-founded decisions even when the pace is high.
