Make a Difference This Summer – Become a Substitute at Vidbo or Lindhult
Are you looking for a summer job where you truly make a difference in someone else's life – every day?
At Vidbo and Lindhult, you will work closely with people who have deafblindness and physical disabilities. It is a job that requires commitment, presence, and care, but it also gives a lot back. Many of our employees describe the feeling of going home after a shift knowing that they have contributed to a safe and meaningful day for someone else.
Vidbo and Lindhult are centrally located in Gothenburg, near Östra Hospital.
About the Work
Your main tasks involve providing support in daily chores and activities, such as personal care, cooking, cleaning, and leisure activities. You will work together with colleagues in a team where you support each other and create a safe and meaningful daily life.
At Vidbo and Lindhult, people with congenital or early-onset deafblindness combined with physical disabilities live, which implies extensive care needs. The work is therefore very care-oriented and includes support in personal care, transfers, and other practical aspects of daily life. Heavy lifting occurs, and the work can sometimes be physically demanding.
In our operations, we work with low-arousal approaches, AKK (Augmentative and Alternative Communication), and sensory stimulation – methods that help us meet every individual in a safe and respectful way.
About the Positions
We are looking for both summer substitutes and hourly substitutes.
- Summer Substitute: Involves full-time work according to a schedule during weeks 25–33. You indicate your availability in the application. There is an opportunity to work hourly before the summer period to get started.
- Hourly Substitute: You have flexible working hours that can be scheduled for day, evening, or night, both on weekdays and weekends. You indicate your availability yourself and receive requests for shifts.
Qualifications
You applying for the position must be at least 18 years old, in accordance with regulations on the working environment for minors (AFS 2023:2).
To be able to maintain documentation, you must master the Swedish language in speech and writing. This implies a requirement for passed grades in Swedish 1, Swedish as a second language 1, or equivalent. If you do not meet this, you may be offered to take a language test via the test provider Educateit.
It is an asset, but not a requirement, if you:
- are trained as a nursing assistant, support assistant, or have another education that the employer considers equivalent, or alternatively have an ongoing education in healthcare and social services.
- have previous work experience in healthcare and social services, nursing, or social work.
- have experience working with people with deafblindness.
The most important thing for us is that you have the right attitude and a willingness to provide support, care, and nursing to people with extensive needs. We are looking for someone who is responsible and takes responsibility for both their own and the group's tasks. You are helpful and respectful in meetings with other people, even in stressful situations. You are calm and confident in pressured situations, can balance different demands, and make well-founded decisions even when the pace is high.
Other Information
Selection and interviews begin during the application period. We only accept applications via our recruitment system in accordance with GDPR. If you have protected personal data, you should NOT apply via the system but contact the responsible recruiting manager for handling your application.
