Job Responsibilities

Do you want to make a difference for the children at Kålhagen's children's home? Then you might be the support educator we are looking for.

We are a close-knit and professional team that collaborates with each other and other stakeholders for the best development. We prioritize our guests. Their needs and wishes are the foundation of our work. Two children with NPF diagnoses live with us. The children have extensive needs for pedagogical support and personal care.

In this role, you are expected to ensure the quality of the operation with a focus on proven working methods and practices in accordance with laws and guidelines. It is also important that you can inspire the team to learn and develop by motivating and engaging them.

You will be part of a team with support assistants and a unit manager and collaborate with a nurse. Much collaboration also takes place with other professionals and relatives. In the role of support educator, you support our residents in daily life, including providing care, managing medication after delegation, and handling social documentation. Furthermore, you will be responsible for the process of documentation, method, and quality development in the unit. As a support educator, you will have continuous contact and collaboration with other support educators and method developers in the administration.

The work schedule includes day, evening, and weekend shifts. As a support educator, you will allocate part of your working hours as pedagogical time. The remaining time is spent working in the operation. We use Timecare Planning for operationally adapted and flexible schedules.

Qualifications

For the position of support educator, a post-secondary specialization in the area of disabilities is required, covering at least 200 YH points or 60 university credits, or a combination thereof that corresponds to at least two semesters of full-time studies. The education should have a clear focus on the area of disabilities in its entirety or other education that the employer assesses as equivalent.

You need to have work experience from working with individuals with physical and mental disabilities and be well acquainted with AAC.

It is an advantage if you have previously worked with TimeCare planning and have a B driver's license.

We are looking for someone who is attentive and open to understanding the needs, feelings, and opinions of others. You are receptive to what others say or express and show respect, consideration, and care in your interactions. You have a good understanding of how individuals absorb knowledge and their different conditions. You adapt the way you convey your message to the recipient and encourage dialogue, participation, and engagement.

Furthermore, you collaborate well with others by listening, showing interest, and respect. You understand the common mission and work to make it as good as possible.

Finally, you are motivated by learning new things and developing. You come up with new ideas and take the initiative for improvements. You actively monitor developments in your professional field and regularly reflect on what needs to be developed in your operation.
