Summer Job as a Substitute at Östergården

At Bräcke diakoni, we are currently looking for substitutes for Östergården, a residential home for children and youth with support needs. Your Job with Us

As a substitute at Östergården, you contribute to safety and a meaningful daily life for children and young people with multiple disabilities and neuropsychiatric disabilities (NPF). You will work as needed during spring and autumn and with more extensive, scheduled work during the summer, as an important part of our team. Your job may involve:

• supporting daily routines and care,
• participating in play, activities, or calming moments,
• interpreting needs and using alternative communication,
• documenting and performing medication delegation - after training and supervision by a nurse,
• collaborating in an engaged team around each child.

Who We Are Looking For

You are over 18 years old and want to work extra alongside your studies or another job. Perhaps you are studying to become a support assistant, nursing assistant, nurse – or already have experience working in support services. The most important thing is that you are a stable and caring person who can be a safe adult in the children's daily lives. With attentiveness and commitment, you adapt your support to each individual and contribute to a safe and functioning operation.

Your Qualifications:

• Experience in care and support work - from jobs or internships
• You speak and write fluently in Swedish and have basic computer skills
• Care and support education and experience working within LSS or support services is an advantage, but not a requirement.

Bräcke Children's and Youth Home Östergården

At Östergården, we work with children and young people with significant and varying needs in a facility with 11 accommodation places. With support according to LSS and caring staff, children can develop according to their capabilities. Everyone has their own room and shares common areas where we socialize, play, and create a meaningful daily life together. We take long-term responsibility for each child, with support that is based on participation and strengthens the feeling of being valuable.
