The VINR/HRV unit (violence in close relationships and honor-related violence) works with adults in Hisingen who are subjected to threats and violence in close relationships and/or honor-related violence and oppression.

We also work with individuals who perpetrate threats and violence against their loved ones.

The assignment also includes cases related to prostitution and human trafficking, although this constitutes a smaller part of the tasks.

The VINR/HRV unit currently consists of eight social workers with authority and one senior social worker who leads the daily work. All have extensive experience and great commitment to the target group and the assignment.

The goal of the work at the VINR/HRV unit is to stop the violence.

Responsibilities

Your primary role as a social worker in the VINR/HRV unit is to receive applications for assistance, investigate and assess the need for protection and support as well as the right to assistance. You make decisions and implement appropriate measures. Equally important is to actively follow up that ongoing measures lead towards the goals formulated together with the individual. In your work, you apply the Administrative Procedure Act, the Social Services Act, and confidentiality legislation as well as other regulations and provisions that govern the operations.

One of the most important and effective measures from you as a social worker is to empower the individual to take their own initiatives for necessary changes. The work involves a high degree of collaboration, both internally and externally, especially with the Family Violence Unit, which is responsible for cases involving children who have witnessed violence between relatives in various ways.

The unit is located at Glasiären.

Qualifications

A degree in social work or another equivalent higher education degree is required.

To fulfill the assignment, you need to have good knowledge of how current legislation should be applied and an understanding of the importance of a legally secure handling. You have a trustworthy approach and strategies and methods for investigative, motivational, and supportive conversations.

To achieve the goal of stopping the violence, collaboration with both internal and external actors is crucial. Therefore, it is important that you have a holistic view of the individual's situation, the ability to collaborate with others, and are comfortable with others having insight into your work.

Working with victims of violence is an area where strong forces can be at play. It is therefore important that you as a person possess personal maturity. To support you in managing this, you will be offered process guidance in groups, methodological guidance from the senior social worker, and, perhaps most importantly, collegial support from the workgroup.

It is an advantage if you have experience of exercising authority within social services and if you have previously worked with violence in close relationships and honor-related violence. Experience with documentation in the operational system Treserva is also desirable. Competence in using FREDA and PATRIARK is considered particularly meritorious, as well as specific training related to the unit's target group.
