Make a real difference – every day

Do you want to work in a municipality where your commitment truly matters and where you have the opportunity to make an impact? We are now strengthening our unit for children and youth and are looking for three dedicated social workers.

For one of the positions, there is also a part-time assignment as a senior social worker. In Essunga municipality, we work closely together, with short decision-making paths and a strong focus on collaboration and development. Here, you have the space to grow, both professionally and personally, while contributing to a safer future for children and youth in our municipality.

About the role

As a social worker with us, you will have a varied and meaningful assignment where you meet children, youth, and their families in different life situations. You will work both independently and in close collaboration with colleagues, other professionals, and external actors. The unit is responsible for investigating, assessing, and making decisions regarding support and protection needs for children, youth, and their families. The work is governed by the Social Services Act (SoL) and, if necessary, the Special Provisions on the Care of Young People Act (LVU) as well as other relevant legislation such as LVM, LSB, and LSS. Through a focus on home-based solutions, we work on change processes together with families in close collaboration with open care.

Your responsibilities include:

  • Conducting investigations and needs assessments according to applicable legislation.
  • Following cases from initial contact to follow-up, focusing on sustainable and long-term solutions.
  • Collaborating in teams and networks with, for example, schools, healthcare, other parts of social services, and various authorities.
  • Contributing to preventive work and the development of the organization.
  • Receiving cases including preliminary assessments.
  • Investigating foster homes and being their foster care secretary.
  • Following up on children's placements in the role of child secretary.

In the role of Senior Social Worker, you will partly work with case management but also provide supervision and some work leadership. The role also includes:

  • Representing the board in court.
  • Providing methodological guidance to social workers.
  • Conducting self-assessments and internal controls.
  • Developing and improving routines and processes.

Essunga is a smaller municipality where changes are quickly noticeable; here you will see the results of your work quickly and have the opportunity to influence both work methods and development.

Who are you?

We are looking for someone who is a trained social worker or has another higher education that the employer assesses as equivalent. We would like you to have experience in authority work and with the target group of children and youth. It is advantageous if you have BBiC basic training and have worked with the case management system LifeCare.

You are a person who likes to take responsibility and initiative, always with the child's best interests in focus. You thrive in a daily routine that can vary and where you sometimes need to think outside the box. With your flexibility, you find solutions even when circumstances change. At the same time, you have a good structure in your work; you plan and prioritize in a way that creates security for both yourself and those you meet. You enjoy collaborating, happily sharing your thoughts and experiences, and see the strength in working together to achieve common goals.

Why Essunga municipality?

We offer you:

  • A close and warm working community with colleagues who support each other.
  • Short decision-making paths and good opportunities to influence.
  • Professional development and support in your role.
  • A work environment where your ideas and engagement are valued.

Do you want to help create safety for children and youth in Essunga? Warmly welcome to become part of our committed team!

We look forward to your application
