Experienced Doctor Wanted at the Defense Medicine Center in Gothenburg

Do you want to work in a dynamic and challenging environment where your medical expertise can make a difference both nationally and internationally? The Defense Medicine Center in Gothenburg is now seeking an experienced doctor for an exciting and varied position at the Hospital Battalion. Here you will have the opportunity to work with advanced medical care in the field, lead medical efforts under demanding conditions, and contribute to training and development within the healthcare capacity of the Armed Forces.

Main Responsibilities

As a staff doctor, you are the military commander's primary support in medical matters. You lead the medical development work at the company and ensure that the defense medicine function maintains good quality in accordance with applicable regulations. You also monitor the individual employee's professional development regarding medical education. The position includes both your own continuing education and training in defense medicine, as well as training others. Sometimes as conceptually responsible, but sometimes also hands-on as a medical instructor. The work can take place under pressured working conditions, and the work environments can be physically challenging. Parts of the working hours may be spent abroad in international military exercises or missions. The position includes clinical duties of up to 20% of the working time to maintain your clinical skills.

Common Tasks:

  • Planning defense medical training at the group level or higher.
  • Planning medical continuing education for licensed and unlicensed healthcare personnel.
  • Managing medication orders and inventory.
  • Project group work within defense medical development.
  • Monitoring the quality of care regarding your own medical units.
  • The professional role also includes combat training to be able to protect and defend your own unit.

Qualifications

  • Licensed physician, specialist competence handling acute cases. Knowledge must be current.
  • Experience in trauma management.
  • Good ability to express yourself in speech and writing in English and Swedish.
  • Fully healthy and meets the requirements in FMFysS.
  • Driver's license B.

Meritorious

  • Military basic training such as completed conscription, Basic Soldier Training for International Service (GSU INT), Basic Military Training (GMU), or Basic Soldier Training (GSU).
  • Previous military national or international service, especially in defense medicine.
  • Reserve officer or other staff training.
  • Documented experience in teaching or instructor competencies.
  • Experience in project management.

Employment type: Permanent. A six-month probationary period applies.

Employment rate: Full-time. Travel both nationally and internationally may occur as well as working evenings and weekends.

Work location: Gothenburg

Start date: By agreement.

Salary: Individual salary setting.

The employment involves a war placement at the Hospital Battalion.
