Villekulla Family Homes is now seeking several families in Västra Götaland who want to open their homes to children or youth. Being a family home is not a form of employment but a mission where the family receives compensation in the form of a fee and reimbursement for expenses. SKR provides recommendations for these compensations.

Who are we looking for?

We are looking for families consisting of two adults who want to contribute with engagement, time, and patience to help a child or youth who needs to live in a different family context for a longer or shorter period. We seek families with stable living conditions. You can live in urban or rural areas. Pets may be acceptable depending on allergies. You can have your own children living at home who are not too young. It is a significant advantage if your own children are a maximum of two. We also seek families who can consider not taking in more than two bonus children.

We are looking for families who have a predictable everyday life and where life "flows on" as it does for most, with the difference that a family home needs to have an extra capacity and abundance of love and patience and be able to include someone else's child in their life and stand firm when children and youth challenge.

There is no requirement that you must have a permanent employment, but your everyday finances should not depend on the family home assignment. The working hours in the family need to match so that there is always an adult at home in the afternoon and evening. It is a great advantage if one adult can be at home full-time for a longer period, but it is not a requirement. The first two weeks of an assignment require one adult to be at home full-time.

You need to master the Swedish language both in speech and writing as we investigate and conduct dialogue solely in this language. Since we work with children's needs, it is important to avoid misunderstandings. It is also an advantage and a nice merit if the family masters more languages.

Who is Villekulla?

Villekulla is an inclusive family home company consisting of consultants with very high availability. We are warm, friendly, and see the good in our families and highlight their resources! We offer our families, especially if you are new to the assignments, solid support. You will receive training and guidance through us, and our supervisor is trained specifically for family homes. Our operations require permission from IVO. We can provide references from our partners who are both existing family homes and placing municipalities. We operate from our office in Skövde, where guidance and training for our family homes also take place.
